Hohneck (5m Royal Dream–Caranca), off at 5/10 odds, set much of the pace for driver Francois Lagadeuc to secure victory in the Gr. II Prix de Washington (purse 120,000€, 1609 meters autostart), International 4-10 year olds) at Enghien.

Trainer-driver Philippe Allaire with Hohneck

Philippe Allaire owns and trains the 1.09.6kr timed winner that was bred by J.P. Guay and today Hohneck won for the 17th time in his career now for 1,052,790€ earned.

Hohneck battled Gaius for the lead, let him go, and then retook the front in quick fractions of 1.07.1kr with 1000 meters remaining and 1.08.9kr at the 500 to go post.

Galius (6m Love You-Star de Villeneuve) was a game second at 18/1 odds with Yoann Lebourgois up for breeder/owner/trainer Severine Raimond. He was blocked along the pegs by a tiring 25/1 Dorgos de Guez (9f Romcok de Guez–Lady Fromentro) handled by Nicolas Bazire but Galius pushed out and mounted a furious late battle.

At the start a wicked speed battle with Dalius far outside

Dorgos was fourth in a photo with third going to fast finishing 36/1 Bleff Dipa (5m Mister JP-Preziosa JW) handled by Roberto Vecchione for trainer Holger Ehlert and owner Jean Pierre Barjon. Finishing fifth behind Dorgos de Guez was 115/1 Jerry Mom (9m Ready Cash-Graziella) for Matthieu Abrivard, ahead of 19/1 Violetto Jet (8m From Above) and 81/1 Florida Sport (7f Tornado Bello).

Tomorrow more fast class trotters will be in action in Belgium:
