The Prix Jules Lemonniert (Gr. II monte International for 5–10-year-olds, 2175 meters, nine staters) today (Dec. 23) included several potential Cornulier prospects in late January. The 17/1 odds winner Homer de Fromental (6g Vanishing Point-Rose de Fromentel) is a gelding and he closed stoutly for the sharp 1.10.8kr timed victory.

Christopher Corbineau was the winning jockey for owner/trainer Damien Lecrog. Homer recorded his 12th career victory in 41 starts for earnings of 370,200€.

The 27/1 Geisha Speed (7f Uriel Speed) was second handled by jockey Anthony Barrier for trainer J.P. Monclin, with third to 19/1 Fousue du Dollar (8f Up And Quick) ridden by Mathieu Mottier for Sylvain Roger. Hirondelle du Rib was fourth at 72/1 and a disappointing 1,6/1 Granvillaise Bleue was fifth. She was second in the last edition of the Cornulier.

Earlier in the card the 3/1 Its Magic Haufor (5f Prodigious-Sonate d’Haufor) rallied to win the Prix d’Evreux (purse 53,000€, 2700 meters for 15 five-year-old starters) timed in 1.14.0kr. Damien Bonne teamed the Christian Bigeon bred/owned/trained performer as he won for the seventh time in 22 starts for 134,700€ earned.  The 10/1 Ivanjica de Lou (5f Real de Lou) and 31/1 Imiko Jiel (5f Brillantissime) were home second and third,

Tomorrow the action is back at Vincennes with the Criterium Continental and Prix Renot de Baune. Great lineups will be at the post in both events with a Prix d’Amerique Prize ticket at stake for each.
