Horace du Goutier (6m Ready Cash-Uniflore Daidou) was an impressive winner of today’s (Jun. 21) Gr. III Grand National du Trot Leg 7 (purse 90,000€, 2800 meters for 5-10 year olds) at Langon-Libourne in France. Handicapped 25 meters Horace was off the 1.6/1 odds favorite and was clocked in 1.13.5kr with Hugues Monthule (former Bold Eagle lad) at the lines.
Sebastian Goutier trains the Ecurie Saint Martin stallion that won for the 16th time in his career good for 365,810€ earned. This was his fourth straight victory and his fifth win in the last six outings. He surged to the front off the final bend and held off rivals late in the lane.
Gaspar d’Angis (7g Quarto- Reveuse d’Angis) was a length back second at 2.6/1 and handicapped 25 meters with Eric Raffin his pilot for owner/trainer J.M. Baudouin. The 4.2/1 Gendreen (7g Booccador de Simm) set the pace and held for third with Alexandre Abrivard aboard and 98/1 Elixir Wind (9g Nahar de Breval) was a fast finishing fourth for driver Sebastien Ernault and trainer Charley Mottier.
