Horace du Goutier (6m Ready Cash-Uniflore Daidou) today (July 13) won the 8th leg of the Gr. III Grand National du Trot (purse 90,000€, 2500 meters, 10 starters all 5–10-year-olds) at Chatelaillon La Rochelle in France.
Timed in 1.108kr and reined by Hugues Monthule, the Sebastien Guarato trainee is owned by Ecurie Saint Martin as he recorded victory 17 in 30 starts now for 365,810€ earned. He has won five straight and six of his last seven starts, He may be a next Prid d’ Amerique contender with qualification races beginning later this year.
Driver Monthule was the longstanding lad for Bold Eagle. Horace was off at 6/10 favorite odds and he defeated 15/1 stabkemate Heliade du Goutier (6f Prodigious-Voltige du Goutier) reined by Matthieu Abrivard for the Guarato/Saint Martin team. Elie de Beaufour (9g Royal Dream-Pignata) was third at 1.3/1 for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire.
Dixor de Retz at 110/1 and 40/1 Falco d’HYavaroche finished fourth and fifth.
