Horace du Goutier wins Grand National du Trot at Angers

Horace du Goutier (6m Ready Cash-Uniflore Daidou-Coktail Jet) easily captured today’s Gr. III Grand National du Trot at Angers (Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 3100 meters distance handicap. 16 starts all 5-10 year olds) covering 31325 meters in a time of 1.14.4kr.

Hugues Monthule teamed the now 18 time winner in 32 career strarts for Ecurie Saint Martin and trainer Sebastien Guarato. He was off at 7/10 favorite odds and now has career earnngs of 469,410€. He made a decisive three wide move at the half-way point to get in the mix and then drew  clear in the stretch. Gigolo Lover (7g Royal Lover-Rosalie Moubaz) was second at 9/1 odds overcoming a 25 meters handicap driven by Nicolas Bazire for trainer Jean Michel Bazire and owner Ecurie Moureaux As. The 29/1 odds and 50 meter handicapped Ganay de Banville (7m Jasmin de Flore-Anais des Banville) was third for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire and owner Ecurie Valliere Racing. Fourth home was 7.4/1 odds Hary Carisaie (6g Viling de Val) with Benjamin Rochard at the lines.
