Horsy Dream wins Gr II Test at La Capelle

Today’s Gr. II Grand Prix Federation Regionale du Nord at La Capelle (purse 120,000€, 1800 meters autostart, 4–10-year-olds) went to even-money favorite Horsy Dream (6m Scipion du Goutier-Bonanza du Closet-Prince Gede) reined by Eric Raffin.

This one is on the way back after a victory at Graignes on August 3 and after a disappointing eighth in the 2023 Prix d’Amerique where he entered that classic off four straight victories. He was timed today in a sharp 1.10.3kr to record his 17^th career victory in 34 starts for 578,070 earned. Pierre Belloche trains this fine trotteur for Ecurie du Closet. The 18/1 Elvis du Vallon (9m Reve de Beylev-Premiere de Beylev-Elvis de Rossignol) was an advancing second for Franck Nivard driving for trainer Charles Cuiller. Third home was 30/1 Eclat de Gloire (9g Tiego d’Etang-Vive Fee-Love You) with trainer Loris Garcia at the lines. Self Explosive (8g Explosive Matter-Lacoste Bi-Toss Out) was fourth for Alexis Prat at 107/1 odds for trainer Christoffer Ericsson.
