The initial leg of the 2023 Trophee Vert harness racing series was held this day (April 2) on the grass at Nimes, France.
The Grand Prix des Trotteurs (Trophee Vert Leg 1, purse 50,000ā¬, 2750 meters distance handicap for 6-10-year-olds) went to 5.7/1 odds Hotline de Carsi (6f Vigove-Uline de Carsi) handled by her owner/trainer/driver J.F. Senet. Race time was 1.18.3kr by the five-time career winner of 149,200ā¬.
Dollar du Caux (10g Treskool du Caux) was second along the pegs at 7.5/1 odds with J.Ch. Feron aboard. Goodman Turgot (7g Sancho Turgot) overcame a 25-meter handicap to be third at 36/1 with trainer Stephane Cingland on the lines. Two more 25-meter handicapped rivals were next in line, namely 17/1 Emancourt and 11/1 Fanjo Cobo.
