Huwaga wins Prix de Mauriac at Vincennes

Huwaga (5f Ready Cash-Uwaga) took this day’s featured Prix de Mauriac (purse 61,000€, 2850 meters, European five year olds) at Paris-Vincennes.

Timed in 1.14.3kr this Nicolas Bazire teamed mare secured her eighth career win now for 205,900€ earned. Jean Michel Bazire trains this one for Alexandre Skowronski and she was off at 3.3/1 odds.

Haiti Island (5f Brillantissime-Bahama Wood) was second at 6.8/1 for David Thomain, trainer Matthieu Abrivard and Ecurie HM Stables, Her breeder was Jean Pierre Dubois. He also bred third finishing Harmonously (5g Prodigious-Quelle Aventure) that Eric Raffin reined for trainer Antonio Ripoll Rigo at 14/1 odds.

Last week the 6/10 favorite Always EK (6m Filipp Roc-Nike EK) was a nose winner of the Prix Hersilie (purse 70,000€, 2100 meters autostart, European 6-8 year olds) timed in 1.10.8kr.

Eric Raffin teamed this Alessandro Gocciadoro trainee for Scuderia Effebi. This was his fifth win in France and he now has earned 315,534€ lifetime. Second was 7.1/1 Free Man (7m Ready Cash-Olly Star) piloted by Alexandre Abrivard for owner Jean Pierre Barjon and trainer L.C. Abrivard. 28/1 Eddy du Vivier (8g Rollingh d’Heripre-Quille du Viver) was third for Cedric Terry, trainer Patrick Terry and legendary owner Ecurie Jean Yves Lucuyer.
