Idao de Tillard (4m Severino-America de Tillard-First de Retz) won today’s Paris-Vincennes featured Gr. II International Prix Doynel de Saint-Quentin (purse 120,000€, 2850 meters, nine five-year old starters) timed in 1.13.4kr.
Idao won his fifth straight and seventh in the last eight starts. The career winner of 1,366,430€ now has 26 career wins in 36 appearances. Idao advanced from eighth with cover and then went three wide off the last bend to score rather easily as the 2/10 odds favorite.
Clement Duvaldestin was at the lines for trainer Thierry Duvaldestin and owner Cyril Sevestre. Ecurie Chaunion bred the classy champion. Finishing second was 14/1 Ideal Ligneries (5m Repeat Love-Ouragane) for driver Francois Lagadeuc and trainer Fabrice Souloy for Ecurie Tremont. Imhatra AM (5f Muscle Hill-Tamla Celeber) took third at 39/1 with Alexandre Abrivard teaming the Jorgen Westholm trainee for Courant AB.
Completing the top five were 7.3/1 Inmarosa (5f Amiral Sacha) for Leo Abrivard and 25/1 Cash Bank Bigi (5f The Bank) with Franck Nivard driving.

In the Gr. II monte Prix Raoul Balliere (purse 120,000€, 2175 meters, 10 starters all three-year olds) the 6.8/1 odds Kapaula de L’Epine (3f Discours Joyeux-Paula Jim) scored easily for jockey Eric Raffin, and owner/trainer J.G. Van Eeckhaute. The winner recorded only her third career win in28 starts for 181,190€.
The 12/1 Karla de Mai (3f Bold Eagle-Vicolta) was next four lengths back for Guillaume Martin and trainer Bruno Bourgoin. Kaisaria (3f Kepler) was third at 43/1 for jockey Laura Planchenault. The 2.3/1 second choice Kircie de Guez (3f Oiseau de Feux) and 1.9/1 favorite Kandora Bella (3f Prodigious) completed the top five to the line. Race time was 1.12.5kr.
Last evening was the annual Prix des Rencontres Internationales (purse 18,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 18 starters ages 6-9, International drivers invitation) and the FR champion Eric Raffin teamed 5.1/1 odds Forsia du Rocher (8g Un Mec d’Heripre-Taiga du Houlbet) to victory timed in 1.13.8kr.
Julien Raffestin trains the 10 time winner in 87 starts for owner Olivier Simonetti. The winner has earned 191.760€. Second was 6/10 favorite Gassmab d’Essa (7g Quido du Goutier) with Michael Nimczyk at the lines with third earned by 36/1 odds outsider Flambeur du Digeon (8g Jag de Bellouet) with Paul Galea driving for owner/trainer J.J. Baillon.
Sunday at Vincennes there are five groupe trots led by the Gr. II Finale Grand National du Trot for a 150,000€ purse that follows 14 GNT races throughout France. The card also includes the Prix Philippe du Rozier (Gr. II International, purse 120,000€, 21775 meters, 11 four-year old starters.
