Iguski Sautonne wins Gr II Grand Prix du Sud Quest

Today’s 48th edition of the Grand Prix du Sud Quest at  Beaumont de Lomagne (Gr II International,  purse 200,000€, 2400 meters autostart, ages 4-11) saw 1.4/1 odds Iguski Sautonne (7m Village Mystic-Sara Sautonne-Juliano  Star) score in 1.11.4kr.

Driver/trainer/owner Matthieu Abrivard found a way to escape blockage late on the pegs and his trainee charged past rivals for the victory, his 19th in 59 career starts for 688,380€ earned. The 5.9/1 Justin Bold (6m Bold Eagle-Udine) held gamely for second with P-Y Verva driving the J.R. Delliaux trainee for Ecurie du Damier. 

Third to the line was 3.1/1 odds Ino du Lupin (7g Scipion du Goutier-Tina d’Hermes) with Antoine Wiels handling the J.P. Marmion trained/owned/bred trotteur. The 10/1 Gaspar d’Angis (9g Quaro), 67/1 Elvis du  Vallon (11m Reve de Beymev), 3.8/1 Just Love You (6f Love You) and 19/1 Just A Gigolo (6m Boccador de Simm) completed the top seven finishers. Fulton and Hymne du Gers were scratched.

At Paris-Vincennes (October 20) the Gr III Prix Olry-Roederer  (monte Gr III, purse 80,000€, 2850  meters, nine  starters four year olds) saw  8.8/1 odds Lakana de  Felliere (4f Earl Simon-Carena de  Felliere-Magnificent Rodney) score timed in 1.14.4kr for jockey Paul Philippe Ploquin. A.P. Grimault trains and owns this five time winner in 18starts for 145,165€  earned.

Home second was 8.9/1 odds LaFolly Delo (4f Brillantissime-Etincelle Delo) with Alexandre Abrivard up for owner/trainer Benjamin Lerebourg. Laska du Levant (4f Soana du Levant) was  third at 8.5/1 for jockey Marius Durville and owner/trainer Benoit Carpentier. 46/1 Lambada du Goutier (4f Carat Williams) was fourth for Tamara Mathias-Maisonnette  and 1.8/1 Lexie de Banville (4f Real de Lou)  was fifth for Adrien Lamy.
