Driver Imre Fazekas had a big Saturday (May 6) at Kincsem Park in Budapest, Hungary, winning four races including two classic harness racing events.
His great day began with the Lajos Matucza Memorial (purse 500,000HUFm 1800 meters autostart) that the promising Steet Genius (4m Uncle Lasse-Dats Veronica-Credit Winner) won timed in 1.14.5kr as the 1.4/1 favorite.
Bernadett Balogh trains this Prolongo III owner import with Fazekas at the lines. The winner was bred in SWE by Stefan Melander. This was his third straight victory at Kincsem Park.
Devoted (4m Maharajah) was fast closing second at 6.5/1 with Emil Csordas aboard, with third to California Poker (5f Oropuro Bar) off at 8.4/1 odds and reined by Joze Sagaj.
The Fazekas, Balogh, Prolongo III team next secured the first elimination of the Tippmix Dr. Tamas Barostyankoy Memorial (purse 600,000HUF, 1800 meters autostart) as Palace Bo (4m Muscle Hill-Jasmina-Abano As) scored easily in 1.13.9kr in his first start in HU. Overall, this was his fourth consecutive win, the first three in Germany.
Bobby Fischer (6g Miguel Duhamel) was a distant second as the 2.7/1 second choice handled by trainer Balazs Juhasz. Third was Zlatan LIW (8m Miguel Duhamel) with Arpad Lakatos at the lines.
In the second Dr. Borostyankoy Memorial elimination (500,000HUF purse, 1800 meters autostart) the 1.15.2kr timed winner was 2.1/1 Krack du Clocher (9g Abano As-Ulta de Claivince-Magot du Revaary) with Joze Sagaj abord for trainer Zvonko Osterc from SLO. This was his second win at Kincsem Park this year.
Villam Ville (9g Beissinger Hanover) was a length back second for Goran Zolnaji with third to Zante Font (8f Quaker Jet) with Balazs Juhasz aboard.
The dayās featured Laszlo Ferge Memorial (purse 3,000,000HUF, 1960 meters distance handicap) saw 3.6/1 Eternal Flame (3m Maximus Lindy-Rubin Lady-Wall Street Banker) scored in 1.17.8kr overcoming a 20-meter handicap.
Andor Angyal trains and drove the winner in his first 2023 start. As a two-year-old he posted one win and two placings in four starts. Eternity Bar (3f Maharajah) was second for Imre Fazekas, trainer Balogh and owner Prolongo III at 4.4/1 odds. Third was Eastwood (3m Maximus Lindy) for trainer/driver Tibor Hajnal at 3.7/1. The second and third finishing horses were also handicapped 20 meters.
In the final of the Dr. Borostyankoy Memorial (purse 2,000,000HUF, 1960 meters distance handicap) Fazekas/Balogh/Prolongo III were back for another Palace Bo (4m Muscle Hill) victory, this one at 1.2/1 odds and timed in 1.16.1kr. Zlatan LIW (8g Miguel Duhamel) was second four lengths back at 3.7/1 for Arpad Lakatos, with third to the 20 meter handicapped and 3.9/1 odds Krack du Clocher (9g Abano As) with Joze Sagaj up.
Fazekas won his fourth of the day with Compact Boy (5m Orecchietti-Titan Lady-Ata Star L) in the Conway Boko Handicap (purse 600,000HUF, 1900 meters autostart) timed in 1.17.8kr. This one is also part of the trainer Balogh/owner Prolongo III stable.
