While some of better French trotteurs and their connections were at work at Solvalla in Sweden on Sunday, the Hippodrome Enghien-Soisy racecourse provided solid local harness racing action.
The Prix du Rhone (purse 71,000ā¬, 2150 meters autostart for 5ā7-year-olds) saw the Tomas Malmqvist trainee Isla Jet (5f Bold Eagle-Ulla Jet-Love You-Lady Jet) score comfortably in 1.11.8kr with Eric Raffin aboard. The winning mare now has 11 career wins for 263,935ā¬ earned for Ecurie Hunter Valley and thanks to her breeder Jean Etienne Dubois.
She was off at 2.9/1 odds and defeated 19/1 Gazoline du Seux (7f Opium-Indiscrete) reined by Matthieu Abrivard and trained by Cyril Travort. Third to the line was 9/1 Ghalie du Goutier (7f Coktail Jet-Thalie du Goutier) with Theo Duvaldestin driving for Ecurie Saint Martin and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.
The Prix de LāObelisque (purse 75,000ā¬, 2150 meters autostart for 7ā10-year-old Europeans) brought about a 1.12.8kr timed and 1.6/1 odds victory for Gitano (7g Tucson-Que dāOseille) that won for the 19th time in his career now for 379,450ā¬ earned. Theo Duvaldestin was the pilot for trainer Thierry Duvaldestin and owner Yves Desmet.
Two longshots hit the board behind the winner; 58/1 Fine Perle Of Love (8f Theo Josselyn-Source Of Love) was second for Matthieu Abrivard and owner/trainer Emmanuel Varin; third was 68/1 Fee de Ranchval (8f Opium-Lambada Blue) also trained by Varin for owner Wolfgang Heidlas and reined by Eric Raffin.
