Today’s superb racing in Paris had several highlights including the Prix Gelinotte (Gr II International, purse 120,000€, 2175 meters, three year olds) where 1.9/1 odds Nocive du Choquel (3f Face Time Bourbon-Emone Cruz-Un Amour d’Haufor) scored in 1.13.4kr for her third career harness racing victory in eight starts.

The 162,020€ career winner was reined by Francois Lagadeuc for trainer Nicolas Bridault and Ecurie Ch. Bridault. Nayara (3f Village Mystic-Io de Nappes) held second at 3/1 odds driven by Eric Raffin for Ecurie Serenite and trainer Sebastien Guarato. Louis Baudron bred this one. Nocla Josselyn ( 3f Face Time Bourbon-Felina Josselyn-Rocklyn) rallied for third at 8.9/1 reined by trainer Nicolas Bazire for Yvan Bernard the owner/breeder. Nacre du Mathieux (3f Ready Cash) was fourth at 2.5/1 with Clement Duvaldestin up.

Mihun Flying (4m Helgafell-Catalina du Pont) at 7.9/1 with Alexandre Abrivard riding took the Prix d’Enghien (monte Gr III European, 90,000€, 2700 meters, 10 four year old open starters) clocked in 1.13.7kr.

Christophe Clin trains and owns this five time winner in 15 starts for 271,000€. Memphisto du Clos (4g Athos des Elfes-Aurore du Clos) was second for jockey Guillaume Martin at 15/1. The Thierry Raffegeau owned and trained trotteur bested 82/1 Gilles Grif (4m The Bank-Imona Gil SM) that finished third for jockey Tamara Mathias-Maisonnette, trainer Nicolas Bazire and Scuderia Mistero SRL. The 7/10 odds favorite Meteore de Simm finished eighth.

Next was the Prix de Lille (purse 90,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 14 European starters ages 6-11) for upper class performers and 7/10 odds favorite Cobra Killer Gar (8g Readly Express-Lady Killer Gar) scored in 1.10.6kr with Eric Raffin driving.

The H.E. Bondo trainee now has 18 wins in 23 starts in France for owner Incolinx di Diego Romeo and the winner’s career bankroll advanced to 530,790€. Jingle du Pont (7g Niky-Tina du Pont) was second at 7.7/1 odds handled by his trainer Nicolas Bazire for Richard Padovani. Diamond Truppo (7m Varenne-Nives Manco) took third at 7.8/1 reined by Clement Duvaldestin for Pachino Horse Srls and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.

The big one was the Prix du Calvados – Cornulier Q3 (Gr II International monte, purse 120,000€, 2850 meters, 11 starters ages 4-11) earning a Cornulier ticket for 2.7/1 odds Islamorada (8f Royal Dream-Ramona) timed in 1.12.4kr with jockey Camille Levesque aboard.

Islamorada now sports 13 career wins in 50 starts for 345,990€ earned. Pierre Levesque trains and owns the winner that defeated East Asia that was disqualified.

The 20/1 Jean Balthazar (7m Alto de Viette) was placed second with Guillaume Martin up for Pascal Castel, followed by 23/1 odds pllavced third Halfa (9f Offshore Dream) ridden by jockey Alan Gendrot.

Finally the Prix Charles Tiercelin (Gr II International, purse 120,000€, 2700 meters, eight four year old open starters) saw 4.6/1 odds and grand gaited Guglielmo Jet (4m Maharajah-Nagasaki Jet) score in 1.1.5.2kr coast to coast to post a major upset as 6/10 Mack de Blary was fourth after advancing from seventh to engage the leader unsuccessfully in upper stretch.
The winner was reined by his trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro for Scuderia Pink and Black. This was the Jet’s second win in four starts in France. He advanced his career earnings to 330,650€. Madrid Haufor (4f Real de Lou-Bastia Haufor) was a closing second with Damien Bonne handling this Christian Bigeon trained/owner/bred performer. Mille Etoiles (4f Prodigious-Electra Green) was third for Matthieu Abrivard at 8.4/1 for trainer Nicolas Bazire and Scuderia Mistero Srl. Mack de Blary (4m Face Time Bourbon) eased back to be next for Theo Duvaldestin followed by 40/1 Magnum du Choquel, 68/1 Morality and 6.5/1 Gabrioz.
