Jamin de Brion takes GNT Leg 2

At Salon de Provence (March 26) this day was the  Gr. III Grand National du Trot Leg 2 (purse 90,000€, 3000 meters distance handicap, 15 harness racing starters ages 5-10).

The 1.13.8kr timed winner was 8/10 odds favorite Jamin de Brion (6m Charly du Noyer-Venusia de Joudes-Quatre Juillet). Matthieu Abrivard trains and reined the winning trotteur that he owns and now shows 12 career victories in 32 starts for 282,760€.

Jamin de Brion barely held to defeat 21/1 Hello Paname (8g Lets Go Along-Pilar-Defi d’Aunou) that David Bekaert piloted for trainer J.R. Delliaux and owner Ecurie du Damier.

Home third was 10/1 Indus Val (7g Booster Winner0Bayadere-Offshore Dream) with P-Y Verva handling the Philippe Bene owned and J.M. Chaineux trained performer.

The 7.6/1 odds and 25 meter handicapped Indy de Jyr (7g Theo Josselyn-Sidonie-Hand du Vivier) was fourth for reinsman Benjamin Rochard and trainer Marc Sassier. 87/1 Helios d’Ela (8g Rieussec) was fifth followed by 14/1 Goal Star that was handicapped 25 meters and 91/1 Fameux Sax.

At Enghien (March 25) the Prix du Pont de Grenelle (monte, purse 68,000€, 2250 meters, 14 European starters ages 7-11) went to 1.12.4kr timed 2/1 odds Illenc des Bosc (7g Dollar Macker-Riviere d’Oliverie) ridden by trainer Mathieu Mottier for breeder/owner Bernardo Parera Ferrer.

The winner now shows ten career wins in 25 starts for 288,570€. Imperial Coglais (7g Real de Lou-Une Coglaise) landed second at 2.4/1 odds for jockey Alexis Collette for Ecurie des Contrelles and trainer Nicolas Jaulreau. Ivanof (7g Apprenti Sorcier) was third at 6.4/1for jockey Victor Saussaye and Adrien Pereira the trainer and owner.
