Jamin de Brion takes GNT Leg 3

The 1.1/1 odds favorite Jamin de Brion (6m Charly du Noyer-Venusia de Joudes-Quatre Juillet) set the pace and held on for harness racing victory in today’s Grand National du Trot third leg (Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 2550 meters distance handicap, 15 starters ages 5-10) at Hippodrome Reims.

Timed in 1.12.8kr the winner was driven by his trainer/owner Matthieu Abrivard and he won for the 13th time in 33 starts for 323,260€.

He was followed by two more Charly du Noyer offspring, the 6.8/1 odds Jack Tonic (6m Charly du Noyer-Class de Touchyvon) that was handicapped 25 meters and driven by Theo Duvakdestin for Thierry Duvaldestin and Ecurie Haras des Quatre Vents, that was timed in 1.12.1kr; and third finishing 4.3/1 odds Kiara de Vandel (5f Charly du Noyer-Silene de Vandel-Love You) with Alexandre Abrivard up for Ecurie La Tour de Vandel and trainer L.C. Abrivard.

Hero Sibey (8g Niky-Varade d’Hermine) was fourth at 14/1 overcoming the 25 meter penalty with  trainer Damien Bonne driving. The 78/1 odds Helios Si (8g Infant du Bossis) was home fifth for trainer/driver Sebastien Hardy.

The GNT series point leaders are now Jamin de Brion with 31, Indy de Jyr with 22 and Hello Janame with 15 points.

The aforementioned sire Charly du Noyer (13m Ready Cash-Ornella Jet-Halimede-Delmonica Jet-Tarass Boulba-Armbro Glamour) won 840,990€ from 11 career wins during his 54 race career taking a 1.10.3kr speed badge.. He has proven to be a consistent sire with 10 offspring earning over 200,000€ led by Helgafell 470,510€, Jack Tonic 461,550€ and Jeegha Pride 362,850€.

The Prix PMU “Au Bon Accueil” (purse 28,000€, 2550 meters, 14 starters ages 6-8) on the undercard saw 2.5/1 odds favorite Oscar Van Halbeek (7g The Bank-Caro Star) scored timed in 1.15.0kr.

Franck Ouvrie teamed the Suzanne Lavigne trainee and owned trotteur to victory. This was Oscar’s second win in France from 17 starts now for 123,162€ earned. Carl Halbak (7g Orlando Vici-Return To Ticket) was second at 6.8/1 odds for driver Benjamin Rochard.

The J.S. Eriksson trainee is owned by Of Course AB. The 10/1 Demetrio (6m Nuncio-Winky’s Truffle) landed third with Gabriele Gelormini driving for trainer H.E. Bondo and owner Trenta E Quaranta Srls.
