Jeroboam d’Erable wins Gr II Auguste Francois

The 2.5/1 odds second harness racing choice Jeroboam d’Erable (6m Prodigious-Amiraute) wins for jockey Damien Bonne and takes the Prix Auguste Francois (Gr III, monte purse  90,000€, 2700 meters, 11 European 6-10 year old starters) today at Paris-Vincennes.

The Clement Thomain trainee owned by Ecurie du Haras d’Erable now sports 10 career wins in 38 starts for 580.890€. Race time was 1.11.4kr. The 2.1/1 odds favorite Impala  de Val (7f Viking de Val-Axelle du Noyer) was  second for jockey Benjamin  Rochard, trainer P.E. Mary and owner Ecurie JP and Co. The 2.7/1 odds Iguski Sautonne (7m Village Mystic-Sara  Sautonne) took  third with Alexandre Abrivard up  for trainer/owner Matthieu Abrivard.

On the undercard was the Prix Poitou-Charentes (purse 75,000€,  2850 meters  distance handicap, 11 starters ages 7-10) where 7.7/1 odds and 255 meter handicapped Isofou du Chene (7g Un Charme Fou-Alisa du Chene) scored in 1.12.0kr for Paul Philippe Ploquin, trainer Julien Le Mer and owner/breeder Yvonne Guedj.

The winner now shows 12 career victories in 45 starts for 411,720€. He was a narrow winner over even money favorite Iroise de  la Noe (7f Tornado Bello-Pollenza de la Noe) that  Robin Lamy teamed for owner/trainer Thomas Levesque. Inherit  (7g Briac Dark) was third at 11/1 odds beaten half length with Benjamin Rochard up for owner/trainer Guillaime Beaufils.

The 31/1 oddds Hisa du Margas (8f Atlas de Joudes-Odyssee du Margas) took the  Prix de Blanquefort  (purse 59,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 14 female starters ages 7-10) timed in a quick 1.10.4kr.

Anthony Barrier reined the J.P. Raffegeau trainee that he co-owns (JP and JY Raffegeau) to his 10th career victory for 265,290€. The 8.6/1 Iena d’Orgeres (7f Village Mystic) was second beaten a length for Cedrik Terry and conditioner Franck Terry. Third home was 4.2/1 Idole d’Ourville  (7f Booster Winner) for  Benjamin Rochard. The 1.1/1 odds favorite Icone  d’Erable finished fifth.

The same day at Mons Ghlin,  the  top flight champion Go On Boy  (9m  Password-Balginette-Hasting) returned  to  action in the Prix Ares (purse 6,000€, 2300 meters autostart, nine International starters)  with a 1.14.3kr timed  win as the 4/10 odds favorite. Trainer Romain Derieux teamed the 22 time winner in 68 starts  for 2,629,417€.   He last raced on July 12  scoring a 1.08.6kr victory in the Prix de  Washington at Enghien. Finishing  back of Go On Boy were 4.8/1 Gericault (6g Muscle Hill) with Jos Verbeeck up for trainer Vincent Martens and 7.6/1 Elvis du Vallon (11m Reve de Beylev) handled by Piet Van Pollaert for Charles Cuiller the trainer.
