Jilord Viva, Munhoa Vedaquaise win at Vincennes

Jilord Viva (7gVulcain duVivier-Uza Viva) gamely  held on at 5.4/1 odds to  secure victory in the Prix du Chesnay (quite+, purse 75,000€, 2850 meters distance handicap, 14 open starters ages 7-11) today at Paris-Vincennes  timed in 1.12.4kr.

Eric Raffin teamed the Juien Raffestin trainee that Paul Viel owns and bred. Jilord, overcoming a 25 meter handicap,  won for the ninth time in 58 career starts for 381,050€ earned. Home second was 6.3/1 odds at 25 meter penalized Horatious Dela (9m Brillantissine) with Benjamin Rochard driving for Marc Sassier who trains for owner/breeder Eric Pierre. Third was 2.4/1 odds favorite and also  25 meter handicapped Isofou  du Chene (8f Un Charme Fou)  handled by David Thomain for trainer Julien LeMer and owner/breeder Yvonne Guedj.

In the Prix de Fontainbleau (monte Gr III, purse 80,000€, 2700 meters, 10 four year old starters) the 2/1 odds favorite  Munhoa Vedaquaise (4f Ready Cash-Espella Vedaquaise-Thorens Vedaquais) scored in 1.12.8kr for jockey Benjamin Rochard and owner/trainer Pierre  Allaire. The winning  mare now sports four wins in 12 career starts for 143,200€. A short nose back second was 7.1/1 Mephisto du Clos (4g Athos des Elfes) handled by Guillaume Martin in owner/trainer Thierry  Raffegeau,  followed by 2.4/1 odds Mack  Dairpet (4g Vittel  de  Brevol) ridden by Arthur Rebeche for Ecurie Aurmath and trainer Stephane Meaunier.
