Jushua Tree takes out the Prix Doynel de Saint Quentin

Jean Michel Bazire piloted the 2/10 odds favorite Jushua Tree (5m Bold Eagle-Ma Sissi James-Buvetier d’Aunou) to a narrow victory in the Gr. II International Prix Doynel de Saint Quentin (purse 120,000€, 2850 meters voltstart, six entrants) timed in 1.12.6kr.

This Nicolas Bazire trainee was bred by Hugues Rousseau and is owned by Ecurie Olmenhof of Belgium.

He now sports 20 career wins in 27 appearances for 1,026,650€ earned. Justin Bold (5m Bold Eagle-Udine) rallied to be second a half-length back of the winner with P-Y Verva driving for Ecurie du Damier and trainer J.R. Delliaux at 14/1 odds.

Jack Tonic (5m Charly du Noyer-Class di Touchyvon) was a close third at 20/1 for Theo Duvaldestin, Ecurie Haras des Quatre and conditioner Thierry Duvaldestin. J’Aime le Foot (5m Boccador de Simm) was fourth at 7.2/1 and Joviality (5f Chapter Seven) was a distant fifth at 8.6/1.

Last evening at Vincennes was the Prix de Rencontres Internationales (purse 18,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 15 entrants) for invited representatives of various partner countries. Ireland’s Jonathan Cowden was the winning driver handling 21/1 odds Gassman d’Essa (8g Quido du Goutier) to victory timed in 1.14.2kr.

Benjamin Rochard of France was second driving 1.2/1 favorite Glorioso Bello.

If I Tell was third at 3.2/1 with Jiri Svoboda driving and Fakir de Goutier landed fourth at 16/1 for Michael Nimczyk. Doug Mcnair of Canada was a miscue dq driving Filou du Berger.
