The even-money favorite Just A Gigolo (4m Boccador de Simm-Blue Valentine) easily won today’s (April 22) Gr. II Prix de Tonnac-Villeneuve (purse 120,000€, 2875 meters for four-year-olds) at Enghien-Soisy in France, timed in a pedestrian 1.15.0kr.
The winner took the front early from the outside directed by pilot Franck Nivard and he controlled the race after reaching the 1000 meters to go post in 1.17.1kr. This was the 15th career victory for the Philippe Allaire bred, owned and trained winner of now 901,450€.
Just For Lova (4m Brillantissime-Venise de Gravelle) was second for Antoine Lherete, also the trainer, at 108/1 odds. Juliet Papa Bravo (4f Ready Cash-Une Lady En Or) took third at 3.1/1 odds with Clement Duvaldestin aboard for breeder/owner J.P. Barjon and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.
Jag Stryck (4m Bretigny) was fourth at 19/1 followed by 57/1 Jaguar Griff (4m Love You-Roxane Griff), 6.4/1 Juniho Dry (4m Carat Williams) and 67/1 Jaguar Wit (6m Eridan). The fifth through seventh money earners are trainer by Sebastian Guarato. Jazzy Perrine, Joyner Sport and J’Aime le Foot were among a groupe of dq’s when interference and breaking horses occurred behind the leaders in the upper stretch.
