Earlier in the week youngsters were in stage at Les Sables d’Olonne – October 21, 2024. The Prix Pierre Trichet (purse 30,000€, 2775 meters distance handicap, three year old open) saw the 3/10 odds favorite Light My Fire (3m Ready Cash-Reethi Rah Jet-Love You) score easily in 1.14.5kr with Eric Raffin aboard. The brother to Bold Eagle won for the fifth time in 12 outings for 107,575€ earned. Sebastien Guarato trains the Ecurie Hunter Valley bred and owned performed that score on the front to record his third victory in his last seven starts.

He overcame a 25 meter handicap as did second-finishing Little Strawberry (3f Uriel Speed-Fraise Tagada-Royal Dream) at 11/1 with Gabriele Gelormini driving for Tramontom Srl and conditioner Alain Chavatte. Lady Bird Jenilat (3f Bird Parker-Cotka Jenilat) was third at 12/1 odds for reinsman Anthony Barrier and trainer J.P. Raffegeau.

This victory for driver Eric Raffin was his first this day among five wins at Les Sables d’Olonne also with two second place driving finishes. Among those victories was a 1.13.4kr clocked win with Jolydole in the Prix Constant Meaunier. The prior day at Reins saw the Prix Bold Eagle at Reims (purse 17,000€, 2550 meters, two year olds open) go to 1.16.9kr timed and 7.2/1 odds Munch Club (2g Ti Punch River-Vulgate d’Awagne) with Franck Ouvrie aboard. This was his maiden win for owner/trainer/breeder Patrick Desprez.

The 1.2/1 favorite Mexico (2m Earl Simon-Ho La Destinee) was second with Theo Duvaldestin driving the Thierry Duvaldestin bred/owned/trainer colt. The 13/1 Ma Bella de Jed (2f Gatsby Perrine-Gemme Phil) with Matthieu Verva handling the Jerome David trained/owned/bred juvenile.
