Kincsem Park (Budapest) celebrated its New Year’s Eve with racing, music, good and entertainment. A full card of 11 trots plus greyhounds also entertained the full house of 10,000 people in attendance. This event is like no other that this reporter has viewed at racing venues.
The trots included three upper purse conditioned races starting with the featured Tippmix-Lovaregtleti DIJ (purse 2,000,000Huf, 1960 meters distance handicap, eight starters). Here the 4/1- and 20-meter handicapped Cardenas Baba (5f From Above-Ulan Bator Baba-Love You) scored timed in 1.15.3kr with trainer Goran Zolnaji aboard. She rallied powerfully in the lane top defeat 4/1 Catania R (5g One Too Many-Campala RAL-Toss Out) with Marko Slavic driving for trainer Mitja Slavic. Third was 2.3/1 favorite Coach Degli Dei (5f Brillantissime-Un Foi Ave-Love You) trained BY Zolnaji and reined by Sandor Kolozsi. The winning Cardenas Baba secured her fifth 2023 win in 12 starts with another seven placings.
In co-featured events the Tamas Pinter Memorial (purse 1,200,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart, eight starters) showcased the winning Zona (8f Offenbach Bigi-Kama-Valley Guardian). She scored with ease in 1.16.5kr with trainer Emi Csordas at the lines. This was her third 2023 victory in 12 starts. Adamo Fling (7m Maximus Lindy) was second for Emese Vezer and trainer Csordas. Berill Lady (6f Maximus Lindy) was third for Sandor Turbucz.
In the Nusz DIJ (purse 1,200,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart, six starters), the other co-featured event this day, the 3.2/1 Anybody (7f Offenbach Bigi-Magna Charta-Baltic Bet) scored in 1.17.2kr. Again, Emil Csordas celebrated the driving/training victory as Anybody won for the sixth time this year in 13 starts plus five placings. Charming Boy (5m Zola Boko) was second for Tibor Hajnal with Acelos Fiu (7m SJs Photo) third with Andrea Fazekas aboard.
A great celebration at Kincsem Park to bring in success for 2024.
