Koctel du Dain wins 200,000€ Gr. I through disqualification

The 1.9/1 favorite Koctel du Dain (3m Boccador de Simm-Ophelia) was placed first after just missing the outright win on the line in the Gr. I Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson (purse 200,000€, 2700 meters for three year olds) at Paris-Vincennes.

David Thomain teamed this Philippe Allaire owned and trained performer that was timed in 1.12.9kr after being interfered with in the lane. This winner now has five career wins good for 228,750€ earned. The 7.2/1 Kamehaheha (3m Uniclove-Vivolta Jet) was placed second after moving right into the placed winner.

This one was reined by Bjorn Goop for Ecurie Hunter Valley and trainer Tomas Malmqvist. Third home was 4.7/1 Kanada (3m Earl Simon-Avila) with Theo Duvaldestin aboard for Ecurie Augustin-Normand and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin. Kana de Beylev and Kalamity d’Heripre finished fourth and fifth.

In the Gr. III monte Prix du Pontavice de Houssey (purse 90,000€, 2175 meters for European 6-11 year olds) the 5.7/1 Chalimar de Guez (11g Nahar de Beval-Phebe de Guez) scored in a quick 1.10.5kr with J.Y. Ricart in the irons. Jean-Michel Bazire trains the winner for Ecurie Vautors. Chalimar secured his 14th career victory now for 788,830€ earned, Hirondelle du Rib (6f Rolling d’Heripre) was second for jockey J.L.Cl. Dersoir at 1.8/1 with third to Happy Ans Lucky (6f Ready Cash) with Adrian Lamy aboard.

The Gr. III Prix d’Orthez (purse 90,000€, 2850 meters, European four year olds) completed this day’s groupe action. The 7.6/1 odds Jaguar Marancourt (4m Cristal Money-Reine de Vandel) scored in 1.14.2kr for his fifth career win and now 187,500€ earned. Gabriele Gelormini was the reinsman for trainer Fabrice Souloy and owner Tramontom Srl. Dubhe Prav (4m Robert Bi) was second at 5.2/1 with Santo Mollo up for trainer Flippo Rocca. The 6.6/1 Jaguar du Goutier (4m Ready Cash) was third for trainer/driver Damien Bonne.

On February 26 will be the Prix de Paris (Gr. I, purse 400,000€, 4150 meters for International 4-11 year olds) and there are 49 horses engaged as shown below. This is the third race in the France Triple Crown.
