Upper class events for three and four-year-olds highlighted tonight’s (Sept. 29) Paris-Vincennes harness racing program.
In the Prix Timocharis (Gr. III, purse 70,000€, nine three-year-old starters) the 3.2/1 second choice Kristal Josselyn (3m Bold Eagle-City Sees) prevailed by a head timed in 1.14.4kr with Benjamin Rochard driving. This Sebastien Guarato trainee is owned by Sebastien DeWulf and was bred by Yvan Bernard. This was Kristal’s fourth win in 15 tries and he now has 149,000€ earned.
The 7/10 odds favorite Kapitano de Source (3m Ready Cash-Varina) was second after setting the pace for reinsman Eric Raffin, trainer Tomas Malmqvist and Ecurie Hunter Valley. Kiara de Vandel (3f Charly du Noyer-Silence du Vandel) was third at 33/1 for pilot Alexandre Abrivard, trainer L.C. Abrivard and Ecurie la Tour de Vandel.
In the Grand Prix de L’UET (purse 60,000€, 2100 meters autostart, eight European four-year-olds) the 1.11.4kr timed winner was the 5/10 odds favorite Just A Gigolo (4m Boccador de Simm-Blue Valentine) with Franck Nivard teaming. Philippe Allaire is the winning owner/breeder/trainer of the now 10-time winner in 28 outings. Gigolo now has life earnings of 1,010,550€.
His 15/1 stablemate Joyner Sport (4m Dollar Macker-Carla du Padoueng) was second for driver David Thomain and owner/trainer Allaire. The 27/1 Gericault (4m Muscle Hill-Reverie d’Ar) took third with Christophe Martens driving, Vincent Martens training and Ecurie Black and White owning. The 6.7/1 Justin Bold (4m Bold Eagle-Udine) was fourth for driver J.F. Senet.
Yesterday at Orebro (Sweden) well-bred two-year-olds were in action. The 7.3/1 Agigato (2f Brillantissime-Simb Regatta-Turbo Thrust) was the 1.14.3kr timed winner with Pierre Nystrom aboard for trainer Lise-Lotte Nystrom. First Wise L (2m Readly Express-Overwind Bi-Angus Hall) was a closing second with Robin Bakker driving for trainer Paul Hagoort. Kozmo Simoni (2m Django Riff-Ups Simoni-Conny Nobell) was third for trainer/driver Jimmi Ehlers. The 7.8/1 V Bucks (2m Brillantissime-Jolie Deo-Trixton) was a distant fourth for trainer/driver Anders Svanstedt.
