Liberte de Choisel upsets in Prix Ariste Hemard

Paris-Vincennes co-featured Prix Ariste Hemard (Gr II International,  purse 120,000€, 2700 meters, 10 four year old starters) saw an  upset winner as 3.2/1 odds Liberte de Choisel (4f Captain Sparrow-River Love) outbattled leading 7/10 favorite Liza Josselyn (4f Ready Cash-Belina Josselyn) to score in 1.12.5kr for driver Anthony Barrier.

The S.G. Dupont trainee is owned by Joseph Gerard Viol and now sports 10 career wins in 13 starts for 220,790€.  Liza Josselyn faded late but held second for Jean Michel Bazire,  trainer Nicolas Bazire and owner/breeder Yvan Bernard. Love Letter (4f Royal Dream-Endiablee) was a close third at 29/1 for Julien Dubois the driver/trainer/owner.

The 34/1 Lara du Goutier (4f Ready Cash) was  fourth with 25/1 odds Louve de Daidou (4f  Ouragon de Celland) fifth driven by Alexandre Abrivard.

Jazzman (5m Niky-Nefertite del Rio) took the   Prix Narquois (Gr III, purse 80,000€, 2700 meters, 13 European five year old starters) on the Vincennes undercard timed in 1.11.7kr at 3.1/1 odds.

Alexandre Abrivard teamed the L.C. Abriavrd trainee for owner M.N. Lusseau. This was Jazzman’s sixth win in France for 322,560€. Kaptain du Liamone  (5g Face Time Bourbon-Andrea d’Ecajeul) was second off at 7.2/1 odds with Eric Raffin driving for trainer/owner Frederic Prat. Charron (5m Code Bon-Golden Feline) landed third at 10/1 with Franck Nivard aboard for trainer G.V. Gundersen, finishing ahead of 7.2/1 odds Caviar From Mine (5m SJs Caviar-Mellby Fashion) handled by Benjamin Rochard.
