Liza Josselyn wins Prix Marcel Laurent in Record Time

November 6, 2025  Harness  Trots France Paris-Vincennes. Today’s Prix Marcel Laurent(Gr II, purse 120,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 13 European starters ages 4-5 ) saw the exceptional Liza Josselyn (4f Ready Cash-Belina Josselyn-Love You) score for Jean Michel Bazirei n record time1.10.0kr.

Off at 2.2/1 favorite odds the Yvan Bernard bred and owned mare won for  the 12th  time  in 20 starts  for 527,900€.  Nicolas Bazire trains the new French champion mare as she passed 3.3/1odds Koctel du Dain (5m Boccador de Simm-Ophelie-First de Retz) that David Thomain teamed for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. Home third was 19/1 Executiv EK (5m Face Time Bourbon-Nike EK-Varenne) driven  by trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro for Scuderia Pink and Black. These leaders were followed by 24/1 Learn To Fly (4m Uriel Speed-Santanna Girl-Coktail Jet) driven by Paul Philippe Ploquin for Michele Stihl and trainer Frederic Senet. Jazzman,  Ksar and East Asia completed the top seven.

Today’s Groupe level laden card also showcased the Prix de Vaumas(Gr III, purse66,000€, 10 European starters, three year olds)  where  13/1 odds Mostra de Banville (3f Hohneck-Color de Banville-Niky) scored in 1.14.3kr with Clement Duvaldestin driving for Philippe Beauvisage and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin.

This filly now sports four career wins for 85,300€.  Maya du Surf (3f Easy de Racques-Altesse du Surf) was second at 11/1 for reinsman Anthony Barrier,  trainer Stephane Prioul and owner Gilbert Couge. The 8/10 odds favorite Miriss de Guez (3f Uzo Josselyn-Quizirette de Guez) was home third driven by Jean Michel Bazire for Ecurie Vautors and conditioner Nicolas Bazire.

Next up was the monte Prix Ceneri Forcinal  ( Gr II, purse 120,000€, 2700 meters, 13 starters age four)  where 1.8/1 odds favorite Lionheart (4m Falcao de Laurma-Decadence)scored in 1.12.5kr to record his 10th career victory in 17 starts for 396,530€.

Eric Raffin was the winning jockey for owner Ecurie de Loradour and trainer Nicolas Bazire. Lakana de Felliere (4f Earl Simon-Carena de Felliere) was second at 16/1odds  ridden by Guillaume  Martin for trainer/owner A.P.  Grimault. L’Ecrin d’Oz (4m Bird Parker-Quelle Emotion) took third money with jockey Alexandre Abrivard, trainer L.C. Abrivard and owner/breeder the legendary Richard William Denechere (he the conditioner and driver of also legendary Fan Idole).

Finally the three year old colts contested the Prix  de Chateau Thierry (Gr III, purse 66,000€, 13 European three year olds) where 20/1 odds Maestro Vrie (3m Village Mystic-Saha de Vrie)scored admirably in 1.14.7kr with Mathieu Mottier up.

The Louis Baudron bred and trained four time winner of 104,630€ is owned by Alain Jathiere. Marquety de Bailly (3m Uniclove-Quokine de Chavot) landed second at 63/1 with Matthieu Abrivard handling the Bruno Bourgoin trainee for breeder/trainer L.B. Bourgoin. Mardouk de Godrel (3m Doberman-Sardane de Godrel) was third for trainer/driver Emmanuel Allard. Followed by the even-money favorite Mouffetard (3m Face Time Bourbon-Usenza) that Gabriele Gelormini reined by breeder/owner Jean Michel Tessier and trainer Sebastien Guarato.
