Maestro Vrie upsets in Prix Ourasi

The 41/1 odds Maestro Vrie (4m Village Mystic-Saga de Vrie) scored in 1.12.9kr to secure the Prix Ourasi (Gr I International, purse 300,000€, 2700  meters, 15 four year old open starters), his fifth career victory in 14 starts for 271,930€ earned.

The win today almost  doubled his career bankroll for owner Alain Jathiere.  Louis Baudron bred and trains Maestro Vrie and second trainer Gwenn Junod was on hand to greet driver Mathieu Mottier. The 18/1 Guglielmo Jet (4m Maharajah-Nagasaki Jet) was a game second for  trainer/driver Alesssandro Gocciadoro and Scuderia Pink and Black that almost doubled after Executiv EK took the Luxembourg. 

Third was 7.3/1 Magic Night (4f Helgafell-Byblis du Goutier) for Paul Philippe Ploquin, trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Gitte Poulsen Allaire. The 33/1 Madrid Haufor (4f Real de Lou) took fourth with Damien Bonne up for Christian Bigeon followed by 43/1 Gabrioz (4m Maharajah-Laetitia) for Eric Raffin and trainer Gocciadoro and sixth finishing  2.5/1 Mack  de  Blary (4m Face Time Bourbon) with Theo Duvaldestin up for Thierry Duvaldestin. 

Ginger Gio was a scratch and the miscue dq’s were Ginoistragliggi, Golden Gio and Magnum du Choquel. The  winning sire  Village Mystic (16m Love You) has enjoyed a superb Winter Meet as his sired Iguski Sautonne (1,027,980€) the Cornulier winner a week ago. He has also sired Hanna des Molles (1,017,920€) and Lovino Bello (882,393€).
