Mhum Flying wins Gr II Prix de Basly

Mhum Flying took tonight’s Prix de Basly (monte Gr II, purse 120,000€, 2700 meters, 11 three year old starters) at Paris-Vincennes for jockey Victor Saussaye. The Christophe Clin trainee that he owns scored for the fourth time in 10 starts for 188,500€.

Race time was 1.14.4kr by this 10/1 odds winner. Matignon (3m Bird Parker-Uticia-Jain de Beval)  was second  at 5.9/1 odds  with Alexandre Abrivard up for Y-A Briand who owns this Thierry Bonnardel trainee. Melody de Vivoin (3f Seigneur Aimef-Bacchante du Beryl-Texas Charm) was third for J-Y Ricart at 12/1 for trainer/owner Emmanuel Varin.

In the undercard featured Prix Baucis (monte, purse 75,000€, 2700 meters, seven starters ages 7-11) the 4/1 Farandolke di  Palba (10f Kesaco Phedo-Vindiana Dry-Nice Love) scored in 1.13.7kr with jockey Mathieu Mottier aboard for Benjamin Goetz the owner and trainer.

The winner now sports 17 career wins in 108 starts for 363,430€. Instant Grave (7g Tiego d’Etang-Perle Grave-Workaholic) at 21/1 odds was second forJ-Y Ricart, trainer Noel Langlois and Ecurie Chort.  Gordon Mijack (9g Ultissimo) took third at 21/1 for jockey Esteban DeJesus.

Finally, the two year olds contested the Prix Galathea (purse 33,000€, 2200 meters, nine two year old starters) with even money favorite Nacre du Mouthieux (2f Ready Cash-Escalade-Love You) the 1.16.5kr timed winner for driver Clement Duvaldestin, Ecurie W Racing Trot and conditioner Thierry Duvaldestin.

The winner is two for two  for 19,575€. Home second was 2.5/1 Nova de Celland (2f Impressionlist-Topaze de Tillard) with Franck Nivard driving for Ecurie Hunter Valley and trainer Bastien Michardiere. Nymphe d’Elle (2f Django Riff) was third at 20/1 odds with Eric Raffin  driving for Laura Hue.
