Offspring of legendary harness racing sires scored today (Dec. 7) at Paris-Vincennes.
In the Prix Jean Boillereau (purse 90,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 15 European 5–10-year-old starters) the impressive fast-closing Glamorous Rain (5g Muscle Hill-Savvy Yankee-Balanced Image) scored handily at 16/1 odds timed in 1.11.4kr.
Alexandre Abrivard teamed this mare for trainer Daniel Reden and owner Brixton Medical AB as she won in her first start in France and advanced her career earnings to 580,280€.
She has recorded 21 wins in Sweden. Her dam Savvy Yankee has produced 15 foals, eight in the US including Knows Nothing $728,688; Rocky Balboa $435,880; Muscles To Spare $322,725; and two other winners of over $110,000. In Denmark she has produced another seven foals with five starts led by Glamorous Rain.
Second in this race today was 2.2/1 Great Skills (5f Ready Cash-Prowess Kronos) handled by her trainer Daniel Wajersten for owner Bru Byggnads AB. Third was 4/1 Bilo Jepson (6g Timoko-Tiffany del Rio) for David Thomain driving for trainer Vitale Ciotola and Scuderia Nininni.
Fourth was 16/1 Sayonara (6f Donato Hanover-Moiviestar) with Bjorn Goop driving for Fredrik Wallin the owner/trainer. The race also had AUS newcomer to France, Ryan Sandersonm driving the unplaced Bordeaux for trainer Jean Michel Bazire.
In the Prix de Begonias (purse 33,000€, 2175 meters with 11 two-year old starters) the 1.6/1 odds Le Poete Bourbon (2m Love You-D’eta Extra Bourbon-Ready Cash) scored in 1.14.6kr with a power rush in the late lane.
J.Ph Monclin trains and drove this two-time winner in as many starts now for 21,610€ earned. His second dam is the exceptional Etta Extra (Florestan-Une Crown-Speedy Crown). The owner is Ecurie du Haras Saint Martin with the breeder SARL Haras Saint Martin.
Finishing second was 2.8/1 Le Voyou d’Almo (2m Thorens Vedaquais) for Yoann Lebourgeois and trainer Charley Heslouin. Thurd was 42/1 Lamsou San (2m Univers de Pan) driven by Franck Nivard for trainer Alain Roussel and owner/breeder Nicole Roussel.
Ready Cash showed up a siring winner in the Prix d’Honfleur (monte, purse 75,000€, 2700 meters, 13 European starters ages 7-10 years) with 9/1 odds Go For The Gold (7g Ready Cash-Grace de Tembia) and jockey Tiphaine Levesque at 9/1 odds. Thierry Duvaldesstin bred and trains this veteran for owner Ecurie Union-Story. Go For The Gold has 18 career wins in 48 starts for 350,490€ in life earnings.
Second was 1.8/1 favorite Espace Winner (9g Prince d’Espace) with jockey Alexandre Abrivard in the irons for breeder/trainer L.C. Abrivard and owner Olivier Ponzio. Good Girl Marceaux (7f Jag de Bellouet) was a rallying third for jockey Damien Bonne, trainer Pierre Vercruysse and Ecurie Top Ten Etalons. Race time was 1.13.2kr off even fractions.
As earlier reported the great Love You (1999, Coktail Jet-Guilty Of Love-And Arifant-Amour d’Auniu-Speedy Somolli-Nesmile) has been retired from public stallion duty but will continue to service the mares of Jean Pierre Dubois, his breeder/owner/trainer/driver.
He won 1.416,537€ during his racing career that yielded 22 wins from 55 starts. He won a host of groupe level tests including the Criterium Continental in 2003 along with the Prix de Milan and Prix Guy le Gonidec that year in which he earned 286,950€ that followed 279.150€ in 2002. His best year, 2004, yielded earnings of 540,200€ from victories such as the Prix Henri Levesque, Prix des Ducs de Normandie and Prix Marcel Laurent. He won an elim of the Elitloppet in 2005.
Love You sired numerous champions most notably Belina Josselyn, Uza Josselyn, Quaker Jet, Royal Dream, Quality Bourbon and in Sweden the champions Nahar and Sanity. He also produced International Moni in the US this one from Moni Maker.
Love You has been a multi-year leading sire based on earnings in FR, SWE and all of Europe. His offspring now dominate Down Under trotting along with other FR bred performers such as Orlando Vici.
