New Year’s Eve at Vincennes

Today’s Paris-Vincennes harness racing program presented a 10 race catalog to a relatively sparse crowd with the featured Prix de Poitiers (purse 75,000€, 2700 meters, 14 starters ages 7-9)  going to  8.1/1 odds Halicia Bella (7f Bold Eagle-Talicia Bella-General du Pommeau) score timed in 1.12.6kr. Alexandre Abrivard was the winning pilot for trainer/owner J.P. Marmion. Halicia now sports 13 career wins in 53 starts for 389,840€.

The favorite 1.6/1 odds Headscott (7g Village Mystic-Terra Scotia) was second for driver Yoann Lebourgeois, trainer Alain Chavatte  and Louis Chauviere the owner. Gipsy de Chamant (8f Quaro-Pepsiede Chamant) at 9/1 was third for trainer/driver-Y Verva and proprietor Paul Daniel Paillot. 15/1 Harmonista (7f Vulcain de Vandel)  and 17/1 Gaotcho Jiel (8g Prince Gede) completed the top five.

On the undercard was the monte Prix de Mede (purse 49,000€, 2175 meters, 14  European starters ages 6-8) with 1.7/1 odds favorite prevailing in 1.11.6kr. That winner was Mister Invictus (6g Ready Cash-Vanity Matters-Explosive Matter) with trainer Mathieu Mottier in the irons for Jean Pierre Barjon. This was his fifth win in Frfance in 18 starts for 123,443€ earned.

Invictus defeated 6.6/1 Staccato HL (6g Muscle Hill-Stacelita-Infinitif) with Paul Philippe Ploquin the jockey for trainer Michael Nimczyk and Stall Germania. Isabella Dimjy (6f Very Look-Petite Rafale=Chef du Chatelet) ended third at 4.2/1 with Guillaume Martin the jockey for Sylvain Marmion the trainer/owner.
