New Year’s Eve Trots in Paris

The 10 race New Year’s Eve trotting program at Paris-Vincennes included the Prix des Chrysanthemes (purse 33,000€, 2700 meters, 13 two year old starters) where 4.9/1 odds Nottingen (2g Saxo de Vandel-Frodaine) rallied to score in 1.15.9kr to remain unbeaten in two outings for 20,475€ earned.

Guillaume Martin reined the Arnaud Desmottes trained and owned youngster that legendary Comte de Bellaigue bred. Not This Time (2m Ready Cash-Famous Lady-Prodigious) held second at 3.9/1 with Eric Raffin driving for trainer Louis Baudron and owner Ecurie des Aulnaies.  Nelson Swift (3m Girolamo) was a distant third at 11/1 with Anthomy Barrier up.

The top purse offering today was in the Prix de Poitiers (purse 75,000€, 2700 meters, 15 starters ages 7-9) where 3.9/1 odds Idylle Express (7f Tiego d’Etang-Parmelie) scored timed in 1.13.2kr with Jean Michel Bazire driving.

Pascal Lelievre trains the Herve Guerin owned mare that now has 11 wins in 52 starts for 360,920€.  The 12/1 Indigo de Fontaine (7g Niky-Soline de Fontaine) was second handled by Leo Abrivard for owner Jean Pierre Barjon and trainer Laurent Claude Abrivard. Hamilton du Ham (8g Rackmaninov Seven-Scarlet du Ham) was third at 36/1 with Christophe Martens up for trainer/owner Yannick Desmet.

Finally the Prix de Croissanville (purse 62,000€, 2700 meters, 12 three year old starters) saw JMB and trainer Pascal Lelievre team up agin for the win by 2.5/1 odds Mistral du Bois (3m Drole de Jet-Kueen of Vikings) timed in 1.14.5kr.

Alain Dutheil owns this two time winner of 102,480€. He was up in the last step to defeat 3.1/1 Machiavel Bourbon (3m Prodigious-Vita Bourbon-Love You) that Eric Raffin reined for conditioner J.P.Monclin and Ecurie du Haras  de Saint Martin. This colt is a full brother to Lotta Bourbon and a half brother to the Ready Cash sired champion Face Time Bourbon. Finishing third today was 3.2/1 odds Mirakaly Manazif (3g Drole de Jet-Agathiva) driven by Benjamin Rochard for owner Ecurie Loic Saraud and trainer Pierre Yves Rochard.
