Normandie Niemen victorious at Enghien

The Prix de Bezons (purse  33,000€, 2250 meters voltstart, nine two year old filly starters) began the card today and 4/10 odds favorite Normandie Niemen (2f Italiano Vero-Best Lady-Saxo de Vandel) was a highlight as she earned her first win for trainer/owner Philippe Allaire.

David Thomain teamed the 1.17.5kr timed winner that qualified in 1.16.1kr at Caen on May 21. The  sire Italiano Vero  is a seven year old son of Ready Cash from a Diamant Gede mare that earned 1,110,350€ with 13 career wins. Finishing second today as 9/1 Nereida (2f Django Riff) with Franck Nivard up followed by 15/1 Nayara (2f Village Mystic)  with breeder/owner/trainer Louis Baudron driving.

The days featured Prix d’Aixe Provence (monte, purse 53,000€, 2250 meters, seven starters ages 4-5) went to 1.6/1odds favorite Lakana de Felliere (4f Earl Simon-Carena de Felliere) with jockey Mathieu Mottier in the irons for owner/trainer A.P. Grimault.

The winner recorded her fourth career win now for 94,265€ earned  with the game 1.13.0kr score. Home second was 5.1/1 Lotus Zen (4f Booster Winner) with Alexandre Angot up for trainer Antonio Ripoll Rigo with third to 11/1 odds Lambada du Goutier (4f Carat Williams) with Tamara Mathias-Maisonnette aboard for trainer Christophe Petrement.
