Nurmos trainees sweep Gr I Svenskt Kriterium and Oaks

Harness racing trainer Timo Nurmos has developed champions (Villiam, Readly Express, Calgary Games and more) and today (Oct. 14) two more names are added to his list. He won both the Svenskt Criterium and Oaks at Solvalla.

In the Gr. I National Svenskt Trav Kriterium the 2.7/1 odds Fame And Glory (3m Tactical Landing-Olympia Tilly-Lindy Lane) swept to the lead early in the last lap and it was over. The Bjorn Goop piloted and Numos trained colt was timed in 1.12.5kr over the 2640 meter autostart course and earned 344,800€ first money. This colt remained undefeated in six starts for the Stall SoFo and Goop/Nurmos team.

Finishing second was Fiftyfour (3m Fourth Dimension-Backfire-Offshore Dream) at 8.2/1 with Ken Ecce up for trainer Tomas Malmqvist. Home third was 3.2/1 second choice Our Pride (3m Maharajah-Our Precious-Pearsall Hanover) with Magnus A Djuse aboard for trainer Nurmos. This one was unbeaten in six outings before today. He sat the pocket and could not respond. Herakles Zet (3n Propulsion) and Fusion Eagra (3f Django Riff) finished fourth and fifth.

In the Gr. I National Svenskt Trav-Oaks (258,600€ to the winner, 2140 meters autostart, 12 three-year-old fillies) at Solvalla the1.12.5kr timed winner was 3.6/1 odds Adriatica (3f Bold Eagle-Xena Brick-Super Arnie)  reined by Magnus A. Djuse for trainer Timo Nurmos and owned by Nurmos and Verrazzano AB.

This filly won for the fourth time in five career starts with another time second. She was first up to gain the need she never relinquished. Ninetta Boko (3f Father Patrick-Aida Boko-From Above) was up on the far outside for second at 8.5/1 with Robbin Bot driving for trainer Erwin Bot. Elegance Kronos (3f Muscle Hill-Pampered Winner-Credit Winner) was third in a pack for trainer/driver Bjorn Goop at 11.9/1 odds. Dial Square (3f Ready Cash-Eileen Boko-Muscle Hill) and Willa Explosive (3f Trixton-Hedwig-Andover Hall) completed the top five to the line.
