Onas Prince romps in Gr I Paralympiatravet Final

Onas Prince (7m Chocolatier-Sobra-Pine Chip) set the harness racing pace from before the quarter and played with his rivals to win the Gr. I International Paralympiatravet Final raced over 2140 meters autostart for 129,000€ first prize at Aby Racecourse in Sweden.

Per Nordstrom drove and trains the winner for Nordstrom-Hansson-Nilsson. Onas Prince is unbeaten in three 2024 starts and now has 30 career victories in 49 starts. He was off at 4/1 odds.

Kentucky River (6m Father Patrick-Flicka River-Ready Cash) was six lengths back second for the Kihlstrom/Reden team and owner JimMit AB. Third was Beartime (9g Pastor Stephen) with Carl Johan Jepson driving for trainer Helena Edlund. Bengurion Jet and King Schermer completed the top five.

There were two stakes on the undercard today. The Aby co-featured Gr. I International Konung Gustaf V’;s Pokal (86,000€ to the winner, 2140 meters autostart, 12 starters four-year old males) went to 5.5/1 odds Baron Tilly (4m Ready Cash-Infra Tilly-Super Arnie) timed 1.11.9kr. Carl Johan Jepson drove the David Persoon trainee for breeder/owner Stall Tilly AB. This one now has seven wins in 15 career starts.

Remember Me D.E. (4m Maharajah) was second for driver/trainer Joakim Lovgren at 47.7/1 with third to 6.2/1 Global Etalon (4m Brillantissime) reined by Magnus A. Djuse for Fredrik Wallin.

The other co-featured event was the Drottning Silvias Pokal (Gr. I International, 86,000€ to the winner, 2140 meters autostart, 12 starters all four-year old females). The US registered Karaboudjan (4f Walner-Noblesse Blue Chip-Credit Winner) secured this 1.12.5kr timed victory rather easily.

Erik Adielsson reined this Adrian Kolgjini trainee that Stall Courant AB owns. This mare now has five career wins in 17 starts.

Willa Explosive (4f Explosive Matter-Veroni-Maharajah) was 9.9/1 odds second with trainer Johan Untersteiner driving for BN Dental Holding AB. Third was Eteria (4f Tactical Landing-Senorita Bonita-Angus Hall) at 17.9/1 odds with Ulf Ohlsson teaming for Reijo Liljendahl training for Bruni Racing Team AM. She came into this race after two straight 2024 wins.

The Aby undercard today included the Lyon Grand Prix 2024 (purse to winner 17,200€, 2640 meters autostartm seven five-year-old starters). The Italian registered Dundee As (5m Maharajah-Fortune As-Tenor de Baune) scored in 1.13.1kr with his Italian trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro at the lines. The Anna Zapella owned campaigner now has seven wins in 32 starts. He was off at 12.7/1 odds.

A Fair Day (5g Maharajah-Jolene Day-Glen Kronos) was second at 1.4/1 odds with Oscar Ginman driving for trainer Eisabeth Almheden. This one owns an Elitloppet invite. Third home was Bedazzled Sox (5m Brillantissime-Out Of The Kitchen-Here Comes Herbie) at 5.7/1 driven by Claes Sjostrom for trainer Roger Walmann.

The STL Mares Elite (21,500€ to the winner, 2140 meters autostart, 11 starters) today went to the quick 1.11.0kr timed Decision Maker (5f Nuncio-Full Authority-Scarlet Knight) at 5.2/1 odds.
