Big weekend of racing in Equope
Perfect Spirit this evening won the Gavle Fyeaaringsst (150,000SEK to the winner, 1640 meters autostart).
This four year-old son of Andover Hall-Good Common Cents-Kadabra) scored in 1.10.7kr for driver Orjan Kihlstrom, trainer Daniel Reden and SRF Stable.
The winner now has six wins and two second place finishes in eight starts since import form the USA. Off as the 1.7/1 favorite Perfect Spirit defeated 27/1 Enterprise (4m Chapter Seven-She’s Gone Again-SJs Caviar) and 4.4/1 Zack Zoomer (4m Deweycheatumnhowe-Passageway-Angus Hall). King Of the Hill and Snowstorm Hanover was dq’s.
At Vincennes on Saturday will feature the Gr. II Prix d’Ete for a 200,000 euro total purse, raced over 2700 meters. Aubrion du Gers will be at the start along with noted sprinter Un Mec d’Heripre.
The Prix de Basly is also Saturday at Vincennes as three year-olds contest this Gr. II event.
Saturday is the FEGAT Amateur Driver Championship final which this year is at Kincsem Park (Budapest).
That series of raced begins Friday evening. There will also be on Saturday the Marschall Memorial and the Hungaria Dij.
The Marschall Memorial is the first Group III race, the prize money is 9.000.000 HUF – about 30.000 USD. The FEGAT Gentlemen European Championship has 13 participants.
