Pierre Levesque trainees double at Chatelaillon La Rochelle

The Pierre Levesque harness racing stable scored a double this day (Nov. 5) at Chatelaillon La Rochelle in France.

The first being Karma (3m Prodigious-Begum Fromentro) in the Prix Joa du Carre d’As (purse 26,000€, 2635 meters distance handicap, 10 three-year-old starters).

Karma and driver Matthieu Abrivard were easy winners

Matthieu Abrivard teamed the 2.3/1 odds winner timed in 1.16.8kr for breeder/owner/trainer Levesque who enjoyed great success with Offshore Dream and Meaulnes du Corta.

Kivala Renardier (3f Sam Bourbon-Teva du Pont) at 9-1 was second with Anthony Barrier teaming the J.E. Huet trainee. Finishing third was 6.9/1 Kiwi A Trois (3m Uniclove) that overcame a 25-meter handicap with Philippe Boutin driving.

In the monte Prix Joa Club OR (purse 30,000€, 2625 meters distance handicap, nine starters) the 9/10 favorite Happy Few (6g Ready Cash-Pilgrims Tina) surged to victory in the final stride timed in 1.15.1kr. Camille Levesque was the winning jockey for her father Pierre Levesque, the trainer and owner. He now has career earnings of 61,841€ with a first and second in two monte starts in France.

Happy Few hangs tough to the wire

Hermes Angel (6g Repeat Love-Vaga) overcame a 25-meters handicap to be second at 7.6/1 odds with Mathilde Collet in the irons. The 5.9/1 Goal de la Mortrie (7g Gazouillis) was third at 5.9/1 for trainer/owner Antonin Andre.

In the day’s featured Grand Prix du Casino Joa de Chatelaillon (Gr. III, purse 64,000€, 2600 meters, nine starters ages 6-10 years) the 1.1/1 odds favorite Happyjo de Ligny (6m Brillantissime-Bella Flore) scored in 1.13.7kr with Matthiieu Abrivard aboard for trainer Yannick Henry and Ecurie Smart. This was the winner’s ninth victory in 37 career starts now for 215,765€ earned.

Headscott (6g Village Mystic) was second at 4.8/1 with Arnaid Albert Chavatte driving for trainer Alain Chavatte. The 25-meter handicapped and 19/1 odds Fiesta de Froulay (8f Gazouillis) was third for trainer/driver Arnaud Desmottes.
