Racing action resumes at Kincsem Park

Trotting action resumed Saturday at Kincsem Park (Budapest) as the 2024 season began with several upper-class races.

The Evnyito DIJ (purse 800,000Huf, 1960 meters distance handicap, six starters) saw 1.8/1 odds Coach Degli Dei (6f Brillantissime-Un Foi Axe-Love You) score timed in 1.17.0kr. Coach recorded seven wins in 2023 in 12 starts. Goran Zolnaji teamed his trainee to victory over 2.1/1 Catania R (6g One Yoo Many) handled by Marko Slavic with third to the 20-meter handicapped Zona (9f Offenbach Bigi) with Emese Vezer at the lines.

The Keresztapa Handicap (purse 600,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart, eight starters) was won by 6.6/1 odds Apollo Creed (8g Vioxx SR-Jungfrau-Valley Guardian) reined by trainer Adel Szennovitz timed in 1.16.6kr. Finishing a close second was Chip Chip Chip (6m Uclipse Boko) teamed with Lajos Bordacs for trainer Lajos Marton. Third to the line was Diana Krall AT (5f El Nino) for her trainer/driver Goran Zolnaji.

Apollo Creed

Finally, the Megnyito Verseny (purse 600,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart, eight starters) went to 2/1 odds Csabito R (6g Orecchietti-Hitelezo0Witsend’s Speedy) with a rallying length score in 1.16.4kr. Lajor Marton drove his trainee to the win, his eighth career victory. The 8.5/1 In Love Danover (6m Univers Love-Aventure Danover) held second for trainer/driver Balazs Juhasz.
