A full-house was on hand on a dry, old evening for the racing program and festive music and entertainment.
The winner, off at 4.6/1, scored career victory 16 in 55 starts, now for earnings of 6,765,000Huf.
Rocket Boy was bred by Kabala Menes Kft and is owned by Pimri Bt and Tamas Bazsony and was timed in 1.19.7kr.
The contest was raced over the 1960 meter course, distance handicapped.
Conway Boko (6m Castleton Bass-Waecon Boko-Conway Hall) was second for Tibor Hajnal, overcoming a 20 meter handicap. Conway Boko had his three race winning streak snapped but he has 29 wins in 57 starts lifetime. Jogging (12g Valley Guardian-Sportlady-Csinom Palko) was third for trainer/driver Sandor Varga.
Fazekas also won the co-featured Tamas Pinter Oroszlan Handicap (purse 1Huf million) with 2.6/1 odds trainee Orlando Bloom (7g Zador-Donna Summer-First Dust) clocked in 1.17.1kr for owner Pimro Bt. The field traveled 1800 meters autostart and Orlando Bloom now has 18 career wins in 70 starts for earnings of 15,165,000Huf. Andorra Gold (7f Andover Hall-Olympics-Muscles Yankee) and trainer/driver Csaba Lakatos emerged from fourth to gain the advantage mid-stretch before Orlando Bloom rallied past by a length nearing the line. Landlord (10m Baltic Bet-Golden Lady-Endless Sands) was third.
Also on the undercard 5.7/1 Oldtimer Diamant (5g Arc de Triomphe-Primadonnas Lady-Titan Way) took the 600,000Huf Magazin Funzine DIJ over 1800 meters autostart, clocked in 1.17.4kr for Emeze Vezer and trainer Emil Csordas. Sun Systems Kft and Laura Pekker own the winner. Off Road (7g PS Dimo-Gala Rose-Yankee Yankee) was second for trainer/driver Sandor Varga with third to Zavita Meerswal (9f Good As Gold-Davidia Storm-Quick Pay) and trainer/driver Csaba Lakatos.
Before the regular card Imre Fazekas won a qualifier with Upper East Side (2m Beissinger Hanover-Lovely Beauty-Valley Guardian), a colt bred by Andrea Fazekas (also an amateur driver and a film producer for Hungarian Trotting Association) and owned now by Pimri Br. In the last race this evening Ms. Fazekas reined Oro Noble (7f Francis Diamond-Noble d’Oro-Shane T Hanover) to a rallying second from post 13 in the BUEK 2016 Handicap, before the crowd enjoyed a superb fireworks display.
