Paris-Vincennes Hippodrome is in great shape leading to the Prix d’Amerique weekend. This day there were three events of interest all with speedy winners.
In the Prix Andre Meunier (purse 60,000€, 2850 meters, 15 starters European ages 7-8 year) the 2.3/1 odds favorite Hymne du Gers (7g Bold Eagle-Unanime Quality) scored easily timed in 1.12.0kr. Trainer Jean Michel Bazire reined the now 10-time winner in 25 starts for Ecurie J.M. Rancoule. The winner now has life earnings of 245,740€. Hubble du Vivier (7g Vulcan du Vivier-Minnie du Vivier) was second for trainer//driver Sebastien Ernault at 5.1/1 odds. The breeder/owner is Jean Yves Lecuyer a legendary breeder in Normandy. King Cole (7g Maharajah) was third for Christophe Martens at 10/1.
In the Prix de Yonkers Raceway (purse 60,000€, 2100 meters autostart, for six-year-olds) longshots prevailed led by the winning 40/1 Isabella Ferm (6f Charly du Noyer-Sofia Thourjan) timed in 1.11.1kr with David Thomain driving for Scuderia Stecca Srl and trainer Fabrice Souloy. This was her sixth career victory in 34 starts now for 171.010€ earned. Icone Madrik (6f Royal Dream) was second at 18/1 for Louis Baudouin driving. Third was 17/1 Imagine Darling (6m Prodigious) for trainer/driver Etienne Dubois. Yonkers Raceway officials were there to present the trophy.
The Prix de Wolvega (purse 59,000€, 2100 meters autostart, ages 7-11 years) went to 12/1 odds Horatius d’Ela (7m Brillantissime-Ondine d’Erzy) that scored timed in 1.11.4kr with Banjamin Rochard up for trainer Marc Sassier. This one now has 10 career victories in 51 starts for 192,055€. High Dream (7g Royal Dream) was second as the 8/10 favorite with Julien Dubois the owner/trainer/driver. Haubrion Calmi (7b Bolero Love) was third at 20/1 for Francois Lagadeuc.
The prior day at Cagnes sur Mer the lightly raced colt Lord Ellington (3m Follow You-Vive Majyc-Baccarat du Pont) won for the first time in the Prix Gelinotte timed in 1.16.2kr. Breeder/owner/trainer Louis Baudron teamed the winner that is from the 381,000€ winning mare. She has previously produced the stallion Give Me Cash that won 215,730€
