The harness racing veteran Stoletheshow (9m Dream Vacation-Abba Hall-Garland Lobell) staged a 10.1/1 odds upset victory in today’s (May 5) Finlandia Ajo (110,00€ to the winner, 1620 meters autostart) at Vermo Racetrack in Helsinki, Finland with Magnus Djuse driving.
The Frode Hamre trainee set the pace and would not allow the 9/10 Hail Mary (8m Googoo Gaagaa-Dreams-Victory Dream) to prevail in a head-to-head struggle over the last 600 meters. Stoletheshow won for the 32nd time in 93 starts and he his five for seven in 2024 for owner Global Slide AB.
He put away tiring Hail Mary that ended third beaten four lengths. Finishing second was 5/1 Catullo Jet (6m Maharajah-Perche’ No Jet-Pine Chip) that rallied and just missed also clocked in 1.10.4kr with trainer Alessandro Gccciador aboard. AG won three earlier drives with his stablemates. Catullo Jet is owned by NBA star Nikola Jokic.
Gocciadoro also won with Expo Wise As (rm Ready Cash-Ladyone-Muscle Mass) in the Glenn Kosmos Memorial (11,000€ to the winner, 2120 meters autostart) timed in 1.12.4kr. He was the 1.2/1 odds favorite, and he now has 13 career wins in 18 starts, with today being his first 2024 victory. Anna Zappella owns this winner.
AG next won the STL Klass II (purse to winner 11,000, 2620 meters autostart) with Eolo Wise L (4m Vivid Wise As-Settelune Bar-Love You) timed in 1.15.0kr. He also staged a front trotting journey to secure his sixth career win in 15 starts and third victory this year. Scuderia Eurocolor Srl is the winning owner.
Lastly the exemplary AG win the Seppelle Ajo (11,000€ to the winner, 2120 meters autostart) with his trainee Falcon Dany Bar (3m Vitruvio-Sister Dany Bar-Love You) timed in 1.13.6kr. This was his fourth career victory in 12 starts for Scuderia Pink and Black Srl. Falcon staged a big move from the back at the halfway point and the result was not in doubt from there.
