Sunday sees 1,020,000€ undercard at Vincennes

The superb Prix d’Amerique Day undercard at the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes on Sunday (Jan. 29) also co-featured the SWC Finales, the Sulky World Championships for four- and five-year-olds.

The Sulky World Championship 4 Ans Finale (Prix Ourasi, Gr. I purse 300,000€, 2700 meters for International four-year-olds) saw 9/1 Just Love You (4f Love You-Just In Love) up in the final strides to win for pilot Alexandre Abrivard, trainer L.C. Abrivard and owner Michele Buiard.

This one recorded her seventh career win now for 317,250€ earned. The winner narrowly defeated 3.8/1 Juninho Dry (4m Carat Willians-Delica Tesser) handled by P.Ph. Ploquin for trainer Sebastian Guarato and Ecurie Dry. Third home was 42/1 Jag Stryck (4m Bretigny) with Francois Lagadeuc at the lines. Justin Road (4m Bold Eagle) and Jazzy Perrine (4f Django Riff) were the fourth and fifth finishers.

In the SWC Finale 5 Ans (Prix Bold Eagle, Gr. I for 300,000€ purse, 2700 meters, International five-year-olds) the 9/1 odds Cocco BFC (5m Varenne-Softail Effe) scored in 1.13.0kr with Franck Ouvrie the pilot.

This Vitale Ciotola trainee is owned by Luca Finutti now has four wins in FR and the 135,000€ first prize advanced his career earnings to 275,200€. The 4.1/1 Cash Bank Bigi (5g The Bank-Settenote Club) finished second for driver Benjamin Rochard and trainer Fabrice Souloy. The fast-finishing 5.5/1 Idylle Speed (5f Carat Williams) was third for driver Jean Michel Bazire and trainer F.P. Bossuet. Charmant de Zack (5m Vivid Wise As) and Ideal Ligneries (5m Repeat Love) completed the top five finishers.

In the other major undercard event the Prix Camille Blaosot (Gr. II montem,120,000€ purse, 2175 meters) saw 7.2/1 Ina du Rib (5f Uhlan du Val-Tina du Rib) score in 1.11.7kr for jockey J.L.Cl. Dersoir and trainer Joel Hallais. This was her fourth career victory now for 197,660€ earned. The 2/1 Ideale du Chene (5f Bird Parker) was second for P.Ph Ploquin.

The Gr. III Prix Helen Johansson (purse 90,000€, 2100 meters autostart for 6–8-year-old Europeans) went to 4.2/1 Allegra Gifont (7f Maharajah-Realm Of Fancy) well driven by trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro for owner Mule Giuseppe. The winner closed stoutly from the back to earn her first win in FR and advanced her career earnings to 370,298€. Race time was a sharp 1.12.0kr. The 10/1 Iceland Falls (7f Iceland-Uppsala Kronos) was next for Bjorn Goop and trainer Fredrik Wallin.

In the Gr. III Prix Jean Rene Gougeon (purse 90,000€, 2100 meters autostart for European 6–8-year-olds) the even money favorite Oracle Tile (7m Ready Cash-Exotic Sund) was the 1.10.8kr timed winner for driver Clement Duvaldestin. The Thierry Duvaldestin trainee now has three career wins in FR for life earnings of 219,847€. Gamay de l’Iton (7m Bird Parker) was second at 36/1 odds for Eric Raffin driving for trainer Hughes Levesque.

Early on the card the Gr. II Prix Jacques Andrieu (purse 120,000€, monte, 2850 meters for International 5-11 year olds) went to 8.2/1 odds Dimo d’Occagnes (10g Timoko-Nymphe d’Occagnes) for jockey Adrian Lamy and owner/trainer Antonio Ripoll-Rigo, the winner’s 20th career victory now for 559,550€ earned. Race time was 1.13.1kr. Figaro de Lorre (8g Royal Dream) and Copsi (11g L’Ocean d’IUrfist) were next followed by Zerozerosette Gar (8m Wishing Stone).

Above is another photo to Prix d’Amerique 2023 winner Hooker Berry and the masterful trainer/driver JMB. Bazire has a fantastic record in this legend race and throughout his career. The work of Bazire and his stable and the performance of Hooker Berry was one to remember along with the special weekend at Vincennes, the Etalon Expo and Arqana-Trot Sale.
