Emerging from a fine winter meet at Vincennes, the improving stayer Tagada Tagada (9f Meaulnes du Corta-Lambada Blue) won today’s Grand Prix de la Ville de Chambray-les-Tours on a heavy turf over 3500 meters distance handicap.
Matthieu Abrivard teamed the winner to the 1.26.4kr score as the mare overcame a 50 meter handicap for trainer/owner Emmanuel Varin to record career win 13 and increase lifetime earnings to €485,880. Off at 2.3/1 the winner bested 8.5/1 Univers de Daidou (8g Jag de Bellouet-l’Absinthe with Gilles Delacour up for trainer Thierry Duvaldestin and owner Ecurie Daidou.
This one was penalized 25 meters. Third was 3.3/1 Visconti (7g Magnificent Rodney-Hematite) with Jerome Chavatte up for trainer Benjamin Goetz and owner Mme. Daniele Gozlan. Viscontio traveled the programmed distance in this Trophy Vert contest for a purse of €45,000.
At Bologna Italy the three year-old females contested the €45,100 Gran Premio Italia over 1660 meters autostart over the half-mile track.
Timed in 1.15.3kr the winner was United Roc (3f Filipp Roc-Ectasi Roc-Princely Fellow) for driver VP Dell’Annunziata. United Roc record victory six in seven career starts now for earnings in excess of €90,000. Upupa RL (3f Ganymede-Birgit del Ronco-Supergill) was second for Joseph Verbeeck ahead of Uma Francis (3f Explot Caf-Fashion del Sogni-Lemon Dra) with Enrico Bellei at the lines.
