Trotter breaks, then comes back in Grade 1 at Jagersro

Tetrick Wania (2m Muscle Hill-Random Destiny-Ken Warkentin), off at 1.2/1 odds, the favorite, overcame a break at the gate, settled and circled the field three wide on the second lap to win the Gr. I National Svensk Uppfodningstopning (purse to winner 700,000SEK, 1640 meters autostart, 12 entrants with three horses scratched) at Jagersro, Sweden.

Trainer Riina Rekila was the driver for new owner Karin Walter-Mommert, who less than a week ago purchased the talented half-brother to Walner for 3,000,000€. Tetrick Wania has a 5-1-0 slate in seven starts, now for 1,603,578SEK earned. Race time today was 1.13.8kr.

In post-race interview the new owner said the colt will be turned out until January and then trained by Michael Nimczyk who recommended and helped arrange the purchase. Second today was Monastery Boko (2m Chelsea Boko-Faith Boko-Virgill Boko) reined by Robin Bakker for trainer Paul Hagoort. Third home was Julia Sisu (2f Kadabra-Octane US-Muscle Hill) for trainer/driver Per Nordstrom.

On the undercard was the Meadow Prophets Minne 2021 (150,000SEK first money, 2140 meters autostart) with victory to 1.12.1kr timed Mindyourvalue WF (8g Hovding Lavec-Mind Your Manners-Dahir de Prelong) aff at 2.77/1 and reined by Bjorn Goop for trainer Robert Bergh.

The winner now has a 21-17-16 slate in 91 career starts for 9,208,905SEK earned. Gareth Boko (8m Make It Happen) was second with Magnus A. Djuse up for trainer Jerry Riordan, ahead of Dragster (9g Micro Mesh) for driver Erik Adielsson.

A race later Rackham (5m Love You-Red Orchid-Dream Vacation) scored in the V75 Silver (125,000SEK first money, 2140 meters autostart, 12 starters) timed in 1.11.5kr for trainer/driver Christoffer Eriksson. Rackham was off at 4.6/1 as he recorded his fourth victory in 2021 in 13 starts. He has a 10-9-3 slate in 34 career starts for 1,637,000SEK earned.
