The Friday evening (March 24) Paris-Vincennes in France kickoff of its Spring Meet harness racing meet that saw two monte Gr. II contests on stage. Both went to students of trainer Thomas Levesque.
In the Prix Felicien Gauvreau (Gr. II purse 120,000€, 2200 meters for monte males three years olds) the 5.2/1 Kyt Kat (3m Booster Winner-Diane de Brevol) scored easily in 1.14.4kr with jockey Mathieu Mottier aboard. Ecurie des Pommiers owns this Levesque trainee that now has three career wins for 77,750€ earned.
The 4/10 favorite Kifil de Buissy (3m Boccador de Simm-Umsara) was second for Alexandre Abrivard and trainer Loris Garcia. Third was 5.2/1 Kimbo Berry (3m Un Amour d’Haufor-Blackstar Berry) that J-M Bazire owns and trains and jockey Christopher Corbineau was in the irons.
In the Prix Ali Hawas (Gr. II monte filly three-year-olds, purse 120,000€, 2200 meters) the 18/1 Kandora Bella (3f Prodigious-Doriana Bella) raced like a favorite for jockey Camille Levesque and owner/trainer Thomas Levesque.
The Remmi Boucret bred filly worked her way to the front from a first over position, took the lead entering the lane and pulled away to a handy victory. This was her second career victory now for 81,820€ earned.
The 9/1 Kaleda Gema (3f Sam Bourbon-Version Gede) was second for Benjamin Rochard and breeder/owner/trainer Marc Sassier. Third home was 84/1 Karina de Bomo (3f Very Nice Marceaux) for jockey Mathilde Herleiksplass.
