The Thursday-Friday harness racing trotting action at Vincennes showcased upper level performers, first in the Prix Bernard le Quellec (purse 60,000€, 2700 meters, 6-10 year old Europeans) with a narrow victory to 3.6/1 odds Tjacko Zaz (9g Crazed-Kinoras Zaz) clocked in 1.13.1kr.
Trainer Jean Michel Bazire was the teamster for Kings Arms/Avesta AB as Tjacko won for eighth time in France and raised his life earnings to 292,238€. Second a nose was 2.3/1 odds favorite Zerozerosette Garf (I6m Wishing Stone-Nadir Gar) handled by Matthieu Abrivard for trainer Vitale Ciotolo and Scuderia Nininni. Third home was Fky Speed (6m Neutron Cebe) for J.Ph. Monclin.
In the Gr. III Prix de Taverny (purse 66,000€, 2700 meters, three year old female Europeans) the winner was 10/1 Icones de Castelle (3f Rocklyn-Miss Castelle) for Alexandre Abrivard, trainer L.C. Abrivard and Ecurie Beaudoin. She was time in 1.14.5kr for this her sixth career win for 96,700€ earned.
The 3.6/1 odds Italienne (3f Goetmals Wood-Doceanide) took second for Anthony Barrier, trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Kevin Tebirent. Third was 3.8/1 I Want You (3f Ganymede-Viva da Vida) reined by Louis Baudron for breeder/owner Etiennette Dubois.
On Friday evening the Prix Cleomede (purse 60,000€, 2850 meters distance handicap for 6-8 year olds) saw 3.3/1 odds Farah des Caux (6f Isigny de Montfort-Ossiliana) score in 1.12.9kr overcoming a 25-meter penalty. Eric Raffin teamed the winner to her 10th career victory now for 192,950€ earned. Two more 25-meter handicapped performers finished second and third. Fille du Chene (6f Un Mec d’Heripre) was second for P.Ph. Ploquin and French Way (6f Vaillant Cash) was third for Franck Nivard.
On Saturday (Sep 15) racing at Chartres featured the Prix Hommage Jehan Lechesne (purse 25,000, 2800 meters distance handicap, the LeTrot Open des Regions Haute Normandie/Ile de France for four year olds). The 1.14.8kr timed winner was 13/1 odds and 25-meter handicapped Hamilton Renka (4g Charly du Noyer-Une Miss de Nappes) for Mathieu Mottier, trainer Bruno Bourgoin and owner Michel Agostini.
This was his fourth career win good for 140,680€ earned. The 1.7/1 favorite, also 25-meter penalized, Hede Darling (4m Password) was second for Jean Pierre Dubois with Hamyot de Bomo (4g Unique Quick) third for P-Y Verva.
