Torino, Italy feature goes to Cosmo Spritz

The hot trotteur Cosmo Spritz (6m Igor Font-Nebraska Jet-Supergill) took another front-end harness racing journey to win the Premio Eileen Eden (purse 13,200€, 1600 meters autostart) at Torino, Italy timed in 1.11.6kr.

Off at 2.28/1 odds this Andrea Farolfi teamed 18-time career winner has earned 116,261€. Sired by the son of Andover Hall-Cologne Kosmos that won 1,304,893€ with a 1.09.9kr record, the winner easily dispatched 2.28/1 Bengurion Jet (7m Maharajah-Love Me Tender-Supergill). Bengurion advanced with a very fast final 500 meters for driver and trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro.

The 24/1 odds Due Italia (5f Adrian Chip-Unique Grif-Varenne) was third and 7.5/1 Akela Pal Ferm (8f Maharajah) and 6.9/1 Always EK (8m Filipp Roc) finished fourth and fifth.

In the Premio Une de Mai (purse 12,100€, 2060 meters) also at Torino, the 1.13.1kr timed victory went to 83.6/1 odds outsider Eclissi di re Dr (4m Wishing Stone-Fiammetta Dx-Uronometro) timed in 1.13.1kr and reined by Francesco DiStefano. Extra Wind (4f Maharajah-Rara Wind-Uronometro) was second with game bid starting in the final bend handled by Andrea Farolfi. Esedoman (4f Nad Al Sheba) was third for driver Marco Smorgon at 9.6/1. Separately, it was announced in Sweden that Elitloppet invitee Don Fanucci Zet (Father Patrick) will start April 3rd at Solvalla over 2140 meters. The horse has been off since last summer but has lost only once in his career.
