It was after the fifth race at Jägersro harness racing track, outside of Malmö, Sweden that tempers boiled over Wednesday evening (March 1).
Ken Ecce, driving Bandit Brick, drove way too tight with Lars I Nilsson’s racehorse Sweetman, driven by Adrian Kolgjni, early into the first turn.
Sweetman, the race favorite, immediately broke stride and was out of the race, and his driver Adrian Kolgjini appeared irate with Ecce.
Afterwards, Nilsson is said to have sought out Ecce in the dressing room. In a subsequent verbal assault, he is said to have hit Ecce in the head while the helmet was on.
On ATG Live, the head judge stated there was an altercation in the dressing room and that the matter was under investigation.
A little while later the decision was ready. In the judge’s report, Lars I Nilsson was fined 3,000 Swedish Kronor ($430US) for unacceptable behavior. At the same time, Ecce was fined 2,000 Swedish Kronor ($286US) and banned for 5 days for the incident.
