Two-year-olds shine at Caen

Two-year olds were on stage this day at Caen. The Sebastien Guarato trainee is owned by breeder Scuderia Bivans Srl, the owner of the sire and also Vivid Wise As. Let Me Shine Gio now has her first career win in five starts for 18,800€ earned. The 8/10 favorite Lumious Star (2f Face Time Bourbon-Comme Une Etoile-Goetmals Wood) was second for trainer/driver William Bigeon and owner Joel Seche. Third to the line was 5.9/1 Lili Dry (2f Goetmals Wood-Gisela Josselyn-Coktail Jet) with David Thomain aboard for trainer Guarato and Ecurie Dry.

The two-year old males battled in the Prix de Planquery (purse 22,000€, 2450 meters voltstart, 10 freshman colt starters). Here the 6.9/1 odds Largo de Bastelle (2m Golden Bridge-Etoile des Castelle) rallied for a narrow score timed in 1.15.9kr. Francois Lagadeuc teamed this Ilona Klappe trainee to his first victory in three career starts for Ecurie Dragon Trotters BV. His earnings now stand at 19,400€. The 2.2/1 Lord des Fanes (2m Doberman-Une des Fanes) was second with Alexandre Abrivard yeaming for trainer Alexandre Buisson for owner Jacques Cottel. The 7.1/1 Luxor de Villaron (2m Etonnant-Belle de Villabon) was a distant third for trainer/driver/owner/breeder Richard Westerink.

On the same program Team Thierry Duvaldestin won a pair with his sons driving. The Prix Stuart (purse 27,000€, 2450 meters voltstart, 16 four-year old starters) went to the 1.6/1 odds and Theo Duvaldestin driven Just de L’Oison (4g Quaro-Punaise) timed in 1.12.3kr. This Thierry D trainee owned by JCB Leclerc now has eight victories in nine starts for 80,100€ earned.

In the Prix de Bourg (purse 27,000€, 2450 meters voltstart, 16 four year old starters) saw 2/1 odds Iris des Roseaux (5g Saxo de Vandel-My Love Lady) scored in 1.11.4kr for driver Clement Duvaldestin and trained Thierry Duvaldestin who trained Ready Cash for much of his aged racing campaign.
