The fast Vernissage Grif (7m Varenne-Dalia Grif-Park Avenue Joe) took the Gr. I Gran Premio Citta’ di Montecatini (purse of final 132,000€, 1640 meters autostart) clocked in 1.10.4kr for trainer/driver Alessandro Gocciadoro. The annual race is held at the Sesana racecourse in Montecatini, Italy.
He traveled on the outer for much of the journey as Zacon Gio (6m Ruty Grif-May Glade Font SM-Yankee Glide) set the pace before finishing third with Roberto Vecchione up for trainer Holger Ehlert.
Closing to finish second in a photo was Billie de Montfort (10f Jaslin de Flore-Quismy de Montfort-And Arifant) with Gabriele Gelormini up for trainer Sebastien Guarato.
Deimos Racing ended fourth for Enrico Bellei ahead of Arnas Cam and pilot Fed Esposito. There were two batterias leading to the finale, each raced over 1640 meters autostart for an 11,000€ purse.Vernissage Grif in Finale
In Batteria two. Zacon Gio scored in 1.12.1kr for Roberto Vecchione, a two length winner from Verdon WF (7g Raja Mirchi-Inghil Terra OM-Lemon Dra) and driver V.P. Dell’Annunziata. Deimos Racing was third for Enrico Bellei.
In the first Batteria Vernissage Grif scored in 1.10.2kr from post seven with Gocciadoro driving. Billie de Montfort set the rapid pace and held gamely second for Gelormini in a photo. This pair set the stage for a super finale. Arnas Cam was third for Bellei from post two.
