Two major Gr. II monte tests (part of the Etrier series) for four and five year olds were on stage today at Paris-Vincennes.
In the Prix Rene Polyart (four year olds qualifer one, monte Gr. II purse 120,000€, 2175 meters) the quick 1.105kr timed winner was 3.8/1 Jadrius de Guez (4m Shadow d’Odyssee-Calamity de Guez). Alexandre Abrivard was the winning jockey for breeder/owner Ecurie Vautors and trainer Jean Michel Bazire. This was Jadrius’ fourth career victory now for 140,130€ earned. The pace was rapid as the clocking with 1000 meters remaining was 1.08.2kr.
Finishing second was 8.4/1 odds Jean Balthazar (4m Alto de Viete) with jockey Joann Lebourgeois up for trainer Pascal Castel. Third home was the 1.5/1 favorite Joyeuse (4f First de Retz) with trainer Mathieu Mottier in the irons for breeder/owner Danielle Mottier. Junon di Leard (4f Briac Dark) and J’Adore (4f Goetmals Wood) completed the top five.
The five year olds battled in the Prix Louis Forcinal (Etrier qualifer one for the five year olds, monte Gr. II, purse 120,000€, 2850 meters) with that victory to 8.8/1 odds Yes We Kan (5m Carat Williams-Babeth) and jockey Eric Raffin. The Romain Derieux trainee now shows five career wins for 174,930€ earned with today’s 1.12.3kr timed score.
Inshore (5m Real de Lou) was second at 1.4/1 odds with Alexandre Abrivard in the irons for breeder/owner/trainer L.C. Abrivard. Third home was 4.9/1 Ina du Rib (5g Uhlan du Val) with J.L.Cl. Dersoir aboard for trainer Joel Hallais and Ecurie Rib. Ivaig Viking was fourth for Yoann Lebourgeois and In Love du Choquel landed fifth for jockey Francois Lagadeuc.
