200,000€ Gr. I Prix Rene Balliere won by a head

The top European free for all trotteurs today (June 26) contested the Gr. I Prix Rene Balliere at Vincennes (purse 200,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 10 entrants) and what a race it was.

Vivid Wise As (8m Yankee Glide-Temple Blue Chip) rallied off cover at 3.3/1 odds to get a short head in front on the line timed in 1.09.1kr for pilot Matthieu Abrivard. The Alessandro Gocciadoro trainee is owned by Scuderia Bivans Srl and he now has 10 wins in France and increased his life earnings to 2,093,048€.

The game pacesetter Etonnant (8m Timoko-Migraine) set a quick pace and just missed for Anthony Barrier and trainer/owner Richard Westerink at 2.9/1 odds. Hohneck (5m Royal Dream-Caranca) held third from a pocket trip for driver Francois Lagadeuc and owner/trainer Philippe Allaire.

Diable de Vauvert and Ampia Mede SM completed the top five. This race completed an exciting Journee des Champions at Paris-Vincennes that brought out a large crowd,

Happy And Lucky (5f Ready Cash-Tosalima) took the Gr. I monte Prix de Normandie (purse 240,000€, 3000 meters, five-year-old open).

Adrien Lamy was the winning jockey for trainer Franck Leblanc and owner Daniel Josset. Off at 11/1 odds the winner defeated two other mares, pacesetting Hirondelle du Rib and Hallix. Happy And Lucky now has recorded six career wins for 257,500€ earned. Race time was 1.12.3kr.
